I wish I could give 5 negative stars!!!! \r \r Last year, I was notified by CreditReport that a negative credit was on my report. Alternative Recovery Management submitted a ZERO BALANCE credit claim to my credit report. Who knew that could happen?!? Well, it can. And it will immediately reduce your credit rating by 80 points! \r \r In July, I received a 30 day late notice for Downtown Dental in LA for $75.. I called them and Lucy assured me that it was all a mistake. \r \r Then I received a 60 day late notice. I called and Lucy said my insurance had not paid the $75. I was pissed that no one even called me about this, but I paid the $75 with a credit card over the phone. I heard nothing more until I received the email from the reporting company...8 months later. Again, A ZERO BALANCE WAS REPORTED AS A NEGATIVE CREDIT CLAIM. Lemme tell you, when you call them about that, no one wants to talk to you.\r \r I send dispute notices to Equifax, Experian, and TransUnion. The negative went away within a month, but it has been a year, and my credit score is still 20 points less than it was the month before Alternative Recovery Management AND Downtown Dental screwed me. \r \r I totally understand the need for this type of company, but this is not the one you want to use. Trying to help people to manage unpaid balances.. if you are paying your bills, you wouldn't have to worry about collection calls. Cons: helping people that want help more

I have a hard time believing that this organization is not an identity theft ring because of their tactics. They would not identify themselves properly, they will not allow a person to ask questions, they keep yelling their pitch without explaining the situation, and yes, they are VERY rude.\r \r My x-wife may owe this money; my x-wife may not owe this money. But, if I am not allowed to ask questions, how am I supposed to find this out. Jeff and Jennifer would not identify themselves beyond their first names, but wanted personal information from me. Finally, I got an email address for Jeff. I am still trying to get bona fides on this individual and the company to prove to myselft that they are not an identity theft scam organization.\r \r I have not been successful to this point. The district attorney for San Diego and the AIG for California should investigate this organization. Cons: They must be an identity theft scam. more

I was recently contacted by a member of the Alternative Recovery Management personnel soliciting our business. After reading your comments, I will certainly not employ this company as I do not want my clients being harassed or degraded, regardless of whether they paid or not. I hope they read these comments and change their ways. more

This collection agency called my husband in regard to a dental bill that we owed. Yes, we owed the money, yes we intended to pay the money, but were wrangling with insurance companies to make sure we only paid what we actually owed. ""Jennifer"" told my husband that she could see that he didn't pay his debts (not true), and she was sure that he wouldn't pay this one. When he asked to speak to her manager, she said she would connect him to the complaints department, and hung up on him. When he called back to speak to her manager about her behavior, he said he endorsed her behavior. This is inexcusable. There is no reason for collection agents to be rude, yet they all seem to think that is how they are supposed to behave. Aparently, their mothers never taught them manners, or that you get much further when you are curteous, rather than rude. There should be a standard that these people should be held to.
