Alsatian Venue

Recently, my family and I visited the Alsatian Restaurant and were quite pleased to say the least. My Reuben sandwich was tasty and full of flavor as were the entrees chosen by my feasting companions. The vegetables were crisp and fresh and the meat was cooked just right! Coming from a background of restaurants and catering my family is one tough crowd to please but from appetizers to dessert the food never failed to impress! more

Please note: The Alsatian Restaurant is located in the Hotel Alsace on Hwy 90 W. The Old Alsatian Steakhouse is located at 1403 Angelo in an historic Alsatian building. It does NOT have a buffet and never has since opening in this location Dec. 2008. We know the names can be confusing, we just wanted to make this clarification. more

We had lunch here on Thursday the food on the buffet was over cooked and barely warm..I did not eat after trying to eat a salad and getting physically sick. I told the waitressi had gotten sick from the salad. She sald oh well her kitchen said salad and dressing was fine. I spoke to the owner who was so rude and nasty. the waitress had told him i was sick from bleu cheese dressingwhich was not what she had been told. this owner was so rude he wasnt concerned at all that a custoner had gotten sick.. His reply was that he was not going to feed people for free when he has fine dining.. I didnt ask to be fed for free even though i did not eat after getting sick. te people with me also didnt not eat anything except soup... LOL fine dining the waitress told 3 people was turkey.. it had no turkey was just veggies in what looked like tomato sauce... more

I spend a lot of time traveling across the country and have sampled many cuisines. It is hard to find both quality food and a good atmosphere. The Alsation Restaurant has both. more

My boyfriend and I ate here last week for our anniversary and we had a great experience. Nice atmosphere, friendly staff and hands down one of the best Reuben sandwiches I have ever tasted! For dessert we had bread pudding...delicious. Definitely worth the trip to Castroville! more

Make sure that you don't go here when they are having other events, you will have poor service and meals. The sodas were flat, with no substitutes. The meals for the most part were good, but not anywhere near Fine Dinning that they advertise. No steak sauce for the ribeye, no Alsatian Sausage. Over charged on the desserts. The Jagerschnitzel sauce was very sweet and unappealing. I would not recommend this restaurant to my friends. For the prices you should get much better service and food. If you drive all the way out to Castroville there are better places to eat. more
