I took my dog to several clinics when she got into some advil. I went to a 24 hr. emergency and they told me they could do nothing without a ton of cash I don't have. Then my girlfriend called Alsager and they took her immediately. They were very informative, helpful, and friendly. I totally recommend taking your animal here. Its nice when you can tell they actually have compassion for the animals they work with. I feel like they may have saved my dog and my sanity. I am truly grateful. more

When I adopted my dog, I received recommendations from friends in regards to Alsager Animal Care Center. After being a client for about six month, my dog had developed an staph infection. I took him to the vet. We saw the vet. We received three medications. When I got home I gave my dog the meds, then looked at the label on the container. It was for a feline, with a different name than my dog and with a different owner. When I called to talk to someone about the effects this might have on my dog, I was told and I quote, ""Well, you only paid for two of the medications, you didn't pay for the one you are telling me about."" I told the receptionist/tech that I was concerned about what I just gave my dog and if it would harm him. I was given the meds from the vet, I assumed they were the correct meds. Again I was told, and I quote, ""You didn't pay for the medication."" I hung up the phone and went to the business and asked to speak to the vet. I was unable to talk with Dr. Alsager and spoke to his associate. I told the associate that I would be happy to pay for any medication that my dog was supposed to be taking, but my main concern was that my dog was given the incorrect medication. He looked at it and assured me that it was the correct medication with an incorrect label. He told me he would talk to Dr. Alsager about the incident. I NEVER received a call from Dr. Alsager - this happened almost 7 years ago. Never once did anyone from this business apologize or reach out to me. In fact, when I left the receptionist/tech stopped me on the way out and told me that I owed them for the medication for which I had not paid. more

Great care 9/24/2008

Two friends recommended this vet to me. The place provided great one on one care/time with the vet and my dog. Took a lot of time to explain things during our first puppy visit (longer then my own doctor does with me : )Told me to bring my girl back at any time (when they are open) if she had any reactions to her shots. My other one had had a very bad reaction when given her shots (from a different vet) My girl did great and no problems. Price are comparable to other vets and staff is friendly and helpful. A little small but I would highly recommend this vet Pros: friendly, caring, good prices, no wait time, Cons: Small place/space more

Horrible (non-existent) service in an emergency situation during normal business hours 7/16/2007

Unwilling to help in an emergency. I had 2 incidents which required prompt vet care. My dog got stung by a bee and started going into anaphylactic shock. I called the clinic and explained exactly what was happening (her whole face was swelling at an alarming rate). After speaking with several people, they told me to just take her to the emergency vet when they opened because the doctor said he was too busy to see her. They were open another hour and a half at that point. The other involved a different dog that was healthy. Her back legs suddenly went out on her and she was not able to use them at all. We didn't know if she was having a stroke or if something else was terribly wrong. Same situation - they checked with the vet and eventually had me speak to the officer manager who told me that she had spoken to the vet and he was ""too busy"" to see her. I was advised to take her to the emergency vet when they opened in a couple of hours. At that point, Alsager ACC was going to be open another 2 hours. I called and interviewed several other vets the next day to inquire as to what their policy was in such situations. Without fail, every one of them told me that no matter how busy they were, they would squeeze in a client in such a situation. Our current vet has proven that she meant it when she said that. She has fit us in each of the few times we've had an emergency. They've also been very helpful during non-emergency, but urgent care, situations. I would never recommend Alsager Animal Care Center, nor would I ever consider returning. Pros: Were happy to schedule us for routine vet care Cons: we were being grossly overcharged for prescription meds and they will not see animals in an emergency situation - if you have an emergency, you'd better hope you already had an appointment scheduled more
