Best service, best pizza in Jacksonville

Worst

I have yet to have a consistant pizza or meal at any of the Al's Pizza outlets. The service is terrible (at least that's consistant) and the pizza and Italian-American fare leaves...

The Best Pizza! 12/6/2010

I only go to Al?s Pizza! It?s definitely the best pizza in Jax! They use fresh ingredients and have great service. I?ve had many of their pizzas and they are all great but my favorite is Hawaiian! Also, I love their tiramisu! Delicious! more

needs a name change 7/23/2008

I had Al's pizza for the first time in a long time about 2 weeks ago after surfing. I had previously had Al's only a couple of times years ago and was never to thrilled about their pizza. This time I ordered a make your own steak calzone and all I can say is wow it was damn good. Don't go for their pizza, go for dinners. Pros: beach locations Cons: mediocre pizza more

Going down hill 3/30/2006

I use to like Al's Pizza but it has really gotten bad. If you look at the dates on the reviews it seems to bare that out. Several years ago they made a pretty good product but ever sense they have expanded into new locations the quality has suffered. Its too bad. more

AWFUL pizza - Water in the middle??? 2/19/2006

This is without question the WORST pizza I have ever had - how people in JAX like this is a mystery. The only reason I can figure is that the food in general is so bad, even pizza, that they dont know the difference. Here is why it's bad: 1) the dough on the bottom middle of the pizza is WET - HUH??? check it out last time - dont know anyone who likes wet pizza; 2) there is ZERO flavor in either the sauce or the toppings. Pros: Large, Active Cons: Inedible more

Read the reviews 2/14/2006

Every review raving about this place dates back to 2002. Sorry but this place is highly overrated and most of the old ratings are so over the top with their praises you can't help but wonder if the owner wrote them. more

very overated 2/2/2006

everytime i go to als it reminds me of cheap overpriced themepark food. the pizza crust has no flavor, the sauce is very ordinary, and you have to let your pizza sit for a while, otherwise, the cheese falls off. the only thing it has going for it is the great atlantic beach location, and the blt pizza, which is only good, because it's different. any other pizza place could make it better. Cons: no parking more

Is there really any other pizza? 12/5/2002

Simply the best!!! 10/18/2002

Al's Pizza has great pizza, salads, and subs. It is a great family pizza parlor. Enjoy your pizza with a cold beer outside or inside. It is good food and fun, in a great atmosphere for the entire family. more

Preggie Craving 10/13/2002

When I was pregnant, I had to have Al's at least 3 times a week. It tasted even better during that time, if that is possible... cause it is great anytime. I have an Al's Pizza T-shirt that I wear in Detroit, MI (where I live now) to tell everybody where the best pizza can be found... Atlantic Beach. Florida. Pros: Food, Atmosphere Cons: Parking more

Al's Rules 10/2/2002

Al's Pizza is the best pizza in Jacksonville, BAR NONE. There is no other pizza place coming close to the traditional pizza making of Al's OR the unique combinations like Al's own BLT Pizza. The sandwiches and salads rock as well. If you haven't eaten at Al's yet, DO IT TODAY. more

A little ""slice"" of home in Jax. 10/1/2002

Al's Pizza reminds me of the pizza I grew up eating. Being a transpalnted Northerner, I enjoy the authentic taste of Al's Pizza. I have been eating there since I've been here, and will continue until I die...Awesome pizza. more

pizzalover 8/13/2002

I have been there one time and I think it is really cool that restaurant is near by the beach. If I'm at beach again or not broke I would go to Al's Pizza. more

""That's NOT Italian"" 8/13/2002

I have yet to have a consistant pizza or meal at any of the Al's Pizza outlets. The service is terrible (at least that's consistant) and the pizza and Italian-American fare leaves a lot to be desired. Don't people have good taste down here?...obviously not if Al's is voted the best. more

Mangia! 8/11/2002

Best pizza south of Connecticut (home of the best pizza in the world)! more

Built success through good food 8/9/2002

I have been going there since it opened on San Pablo road about 10 years ago. The food is still the same but the atmosphere has gotten better. Te food is great for the prices you pay. more

BLT Rocks! 8/9/2002

Generally speaking, this place is annoying due to having to wait for over a 1/2 hour to be seated, not to mention NEVER being able to find a place to park, but their BLT pizza is well worth the wait (or you can just carry out). Everyone I have introduced the BLT to, is hooked. You should give it a try. Can't smoke inside, but they have a cool little bar at the Ponte Vedra location. Pros: Excellent pizza, etc., Cool decor Cons: TERRIBLE parking, Always a wait more

Fab food! 7/21/2002

Al's is fabulous if you want a casual dinning experience with great food and friendly service. Everything on their menu is delicous. They have a variety of Italian dishes, original specialty pizzas, and my very highly recomended favorite... Calzones. If you haven't been to Al's Pizza, you're missing out! more
