Al's Lawn Mower Sales & SVC

I bought a reel lawn mower in april for $90 and from the get go it did not work properly. I put it in my garage to attempt it a couple months later. I tried to use it and was so fed up I took it into al's to exchange it for a $200 electric mower. Al said he would give me $50 for the mower instead of using the $90 for the upgrade. I told him I'd take my business elsewhere. more

STAY AWAY, YOUVE BEEN WARNED, THIS GUY DOENT CARE, HE GETS 80 AN HOUR, AND IS BOOKED WEEKS IN ADVANCE. HE AND HIS WIFE HAVE A ""GO SOMEWHERE ELSE ATTITUDE "" this place is a nitemare, read all the reviews, i wish i had done just that!. i bought a brand new mower from home depot for a about 200$ ,a lawnboy. It lasted half the summer, and i brought it in, they promised it to me in 2 weeks, so in 2 weeks i call to see if its ready, and they say they havnt looked at it, so, 2 weeks after that, it cost me 150 to repair. a month alter the engine stopped running. i threw it in the trash. my friend gave a john deere, that didnt run, i brought it in, and they repaird it for 100$. This spring i decide i want a self propelled, so i bring in the jon deere to trade, he offers me 100$ trade in on a used toro, $275. I go for it, and 175$ later, get it home, and the self propel doesnt work. So i bring it back, and tell him, give me a new one, im tired off fooling around, so he sell me a new toro, for 350$, and then offers me 75$ for the trade in, i tell him he offered me 100 on the used one.HE SAIS "" LETS CANCELL THE WHOLE DEAL. he has me whipped, i give up, you win, just give me the mower and ill leave. more

I've brought mowers in several times, and they don't seem to have been fixed up very well, (loose pull rope for instance) more

Don't waste your time at Al's Mower. Over priced, didn't deliver when promised, just plain lied about the 'tune up'. Couldn't reach them by phone repeatedly, and when I did, they put me on hold and never answered. I have read the reviews about people coming back every year for 10 years and just have to note that if they fixed it right, you wouldn't be back at all! Don't waste your time with this business! It got one star because it was required not because it was deserved! more

I've had Al's repair my lawn equipment for over 10 years and they are outstanding! They've always fixed everything correctly the 1st time. Be aware, just like any other mower shop that they are extremely busy during the season and yes there will be probably be a wait in the shop and to get your gear repaired. more

Waiting more than 15 minutes to get help, Al was closing a deal with a customer buying a used lawn mower. The customer told an off color ethnic joke that Al laughed about in response. Really? Disgusted, I left without being helped. Al's is not the kind of business I want to deal with. I went to Stark Street Lawn and Garden on 118th and Stark where I received prompt, excellent, professional service. Ignore the one star as I don't think Al's even deserves that much of a rating. more

I have always been happy with the Al's provides and the way they do business. I have no idea what other shops are like beause the only place I would go is Al's. more

When I formerly lived in the portland area there was only one mower shop I would visit. Al's is that place, they have great service and prices that are below some of the other shops in town. I had my mower serviced there several times over the years and every time my mower came back with a breath of new life. There customer service is great as well and they will set you up with whatever you need in only a few short minutes. If you live anywhere near al's I would go there and avoid the other shops. more

I had been after a husqvarna saw for a long time. After searching town for one all I could find were stihls, i checked online and apparently al's mower carried them. I headed over and checked out what they had. They had most models of husqvarna available. After testing out a few I settled on a 455. The saw is excellent. It's also nice because instead of them giving you a new saw in a box they have them setup and they service it for you so you know it will run fine before you get home. I'm very pleased with my purchase and will definantly check out al's in the future. more

After browsing at several used mowers on craigslist and not finding anything to my liking I decided to check out Al's. I found a Nice Toro that I really liked and the best part was Al's backs up all their mowers with a 1 year warranty. Now that to me shows they truly believe in what they are selling. They also had a good sales staff that really helped a lot with all my questions. more

Being a professional landscaper is hard work and even worse when your equipment breaks down. I have been using al's for awhile. They always pull through for me and get my equipment done quickly and they always do a good job. I couldn't ask for better service. more

After purchasing my new husqvarna 350 saw at sears it had managed to not stay running. I thought to myself great now I will have to send my brand new saw out to some distributor and not see it again. Luckily I contacted husqvarna and they said I just had to take my saw to a servicing dealer. I looked up online the nearest dealer and found al's. I dropped off my machine there and a few days later had it back in perfect running order. All it needed was a carb adjustment. I would definantly check these guys out if you need any work done on your power equipment. more

I've never been to Al's shop but I have been on their website. I had contacted them about some parts I was trying to find. The same day I was contacted back by a member of al's staff saying that he had my parts and they could be shipped to me. Al's is a great place and one of the few that will ship you parts. more

I needed my mower repaired but was in a bind. I checked around town and nobody had a pickup service. Al's is the only shop I could find that would actually pickup and deliver my mower. I'm glad Al's is around they did a great job on my mower as well. more

I went to al's o get some parts for my mower. After I presented them with a model and serial number they promptly found the parts I was looking for and I was on my way. This kind of service is what is missiong from a lot of small businesses. I will continue using Al's for all my lawn and garden needs. more

I recently purchased a craftsman mower from al's. Their sales staff helped me a ton in being able to make a proper decision. The guy that helped me showed me several examples of mowers in my price range and told me the pros and cons of each. This info helped me make a well informed decision and I am extremely happy with my Purchase. 5 Stars more

I have been looking for some new equipment to use at my home but my budget has always been short for brand new equipment. I was out shopping in the southeast portland area when I came acrossed a lawnmower shop. I decided to stop by and see what they had. Unexpectedly they had tons of used equipment at very reasonable prices. I forgot about shopping for the day and purchased the equipment I had been wanting to get for quite awhile!!! Thanks a million Al's. I couldn't be happier. more

I had been in contact with different mower repair shops in Portland but had been reluctant to take my mower in due to high price until I found Al's. They do have a great price only $54.95 for the tune up. I headed down there as soon as I heard the price. Upon picking my mower up after service was complete it ran like a top. I can't reccomend al's enough. more

I had been searching all over town for some wheels for my old cooper clipper. AFter months of frustration I found Al's. They had 1 remaining set of the wheels I needed they also had several other parts for my old cooper as well as other parts for some harder to find mowers. I give Al's a 5/5 They are a great shop with a awesome inventory. more

I went to al's to get some of my equipment serviced for the upcoming season. They did an excellent job for the best price in town. I have used some of the other shops around town and they seem to want quite a bit more for their services and the quality of work done is nowhere near the quality of Al's. I would recommend them to anyone looking for a good shop with great service. more
