Al seems to know his stuff, but he talks a lot more than he listens, and he smooth talks as well. I traded some cards for comics, and he told me that the comics I just traded were worth a lot and that I was probably planning on selling them on ebay*. I knew they weren't worth much, and it was clear he was trying to make it look like I was getting a good deal. I wasn't. But I wanted to get rid of the cards and didn't have time to sort them all and sell them individually, so he served a purpose. He probably wouldn't be a bad guy to buy from, but I heartily recommend NOT selling or trading anything with him. *He said one comic in particular was worth a LOT (his emphasis). I ended up selling it on ebay for $3 (I cleared $1 after shipping and fees. So by smooth talking, I guess I mean lying. more

SPORTS CARDS AT REASONABLE PRICES 11/21/2008

I have dealt with many sport collecticbles establishments and have found Al's to be the best. He is very friendiy and especially helpful in finding what you want and getting sports related supplies at very reasonable prices. Although I deal only in Baseball cards he has a full line of cards, pictures, baseballs for all sports at very reasonable prices. Parking is available on Union Street or directly behind his store. A trip to his store while you are in this area could be very beneficial to you in furthering your collection of sports related material. His store is good for the beginner or established collector. Thanks Al. more

Best damn sports card place i've ever come across. 7/31/2007

Al is a great guy who has an amazing collection of cards, including cards from the old days of baseball, which interest me the most. Prices are reasonable considering the age of the cards. I've been to a lot of card shops and most of the ones i've come across focus on cards of modern players (you know, from the steroid era). Whenever i get back to Schenectady, my sons and I make a pilgrimage to Al's.\r more
