Al's Automotive Service Center

My daughter was in an accident and Al's was called by the State Police. The rear end of the vehicle was perched upon the guard rail, and their were concerns about damaging the gas tank while attempting to remove it. Al's came out with a tow truck that has a crane that could lift the back end of the car off the guard rail-this took about 10 minutes. The charges? $5000.00!!!!!!!!! According to our insurance company, they charge $750 per hour (which I understand is reasonable for this service) but charge a 4 HOUR MINIMUM!!!!!!! Then charged $190 for administrative fees (i.e. they faxed the bill to our insurance company), $25 for a pair of gloves, etc... Now they will not release the vehicle until the $5000 bill is paid. Keep in mind that we did not have a choice in tow companies-The state police made that call. And now our vehicle is being held hostage until the ransom is paid. What a rackett!!!! We will definately be calling the state of NH about this, and I hope our insurance company takes them to court. more

Leaving for weekend broke down near end of workday. They towed me in checked the electrical system and found a loose battery connection. Sent me on my way and only charged a reasonable amount for the tow and minor repair. I was prepared for the mega bill! I will be back more

I droped my car off their for some work, then I read these negative responses and was extremely worried. But everything was great and was it was even less then the estimate to fix my breaks. Good job guys. Steve more

dropped off my car for inspection sticker. when i picked it up there was a bill for over $1500 for stuff that wasn't even related to the inspection. I was warned by people but didn't listen to them. And he's very arrogant if you ask why he did the work without permission. more

Their towing charges were so excessive I called the State of NH to investigate. Not the business you want to deal with for anything. On the plus side, they do rip you off with a smile. more

i broke down on rt.101 and the state police man recommend al's to tow my car. well the tow truck driver showed up within 20 min and was extremely helpful. he offered to tow my car back to their garage and check with his office and was able to lend me a free loaner car. i can't say enough good things. they had my car fixed the next day. (it was the water pump) and the bill was reasonable. i would recommend this shop to all. they are great people!!! 5 stars more

We took in one thing to be fixed, were given time and cost estimates that were both way off base, and, to add insult to injury, they broke something else (something that's very expensive to fix) and refused to remedy the situation. We were visiting family at the time, and had to take whatever we got--if we lived in-state, we would've filed complaints with the BBB against these guys. more

MY CAR HAD TO BE TOWED LAST WEEK AND I'M NEW TO THE AREA. A LOCAL FRIEND RECOMMENDED AL'S IN EXETER FOR THE TOWING. THE TOW TRUCK DRIVER COULDN'T HAVE BEEN MORE FRIENDLY, HELPFUL, AND COURTEOUS. IN FACT, I WAS GOING TO HAVE THE CAR TOWED TO THE DEALER FOR THE PROBLEM UNTIL THE DRIVER SAID THAT THEY COULD DO THE WORK, AND PROVIDE ME WITH A FREE LOANER CAR WHILE IT WAS GETTING WORKED ON. MY CAR WAS FIXED BY THE NEXT DAY, AND THE SERVICE MANAGER LET ME KNOW STEP BY STEP THE COST, AND THE PARTS THAT WERE NEEDED. I ALSO GOT TO SEE THE WORK THAT WAS INVOLVED BECAUSE THEY TOOK DIGITAL PICTURES OF THE PROCESS IN STAGES. I WILL NOW BE BRINGING MY VEHICLES TO AL'S FOR ALL PROBLEMS BIG OR SMALL! I CAN'T SAY ENOUGH ABOUT THE WHOLE EXPERIENCE! A BIG THANKS TO EVERYONE AT AL'S. KEEP UP THE GOOD WORK! more

want to pay alot of money and have nothing fixed, thats what they do here. i brought my car here told them what i wanted done, ok easy enough. well i pick up my car, pay them and find out nothing was fixed. if i could give lower than 1 star i would. more
