I recently had shoulder surgery performed by Dr. Steven Eager. He did an exellent job. He and his staff were very courteous and professional. Dr.Eager has a great sense of humor ...

Horrible phone service at Alpine! 9/21/2010

Horrible phone reception. When you call them, you leave a live message with someone who will take all your info then tell you someone else will call you later. Then if you don't answer the phone whenever they call (which has takes at least 4 hours up to 2 days) you start all over. If you answer, they re-ask you everything the first person asked (makes me wonder why ask the first time if it doesn't get passed along). I have had 4 appointments schedules with them, they canceled all 4 with only a one or two day notice. A machine calls you to tell you to call them to re-scedule. Guess what you get to go through because they are too lazy to have someone jjust actually call (see above situation)....\r I have Dr Winter. he himself is good so far. But the office organizaton, etc is the worst I have ever dealt with. more

Give Me A Choice 6/11/2010

Be Careful of this Group. I was advised that I need a total knee replacement which I agreed with. I asked what kind of implants I would receive and who they were made by. I was curious because I heard that some implants were better than others. I was told what implant they used but i wanted a different company. I had asked about a the different company's implant becasue I had saw a commercial about it and researched it. Well I was told they only use this one particular implant because they own the the local distribution rights and offer a better price to the hospital. This scares me. Doesn't that violate some anti trust law. How do I now I'm getting the right implant and not just the one their making money off of. I've heard that some implants do better than other but I don't have that choice. Doesn't seem right more

Mrs 4/23/2010

I was in the exam room 2 1/2 hours and saw Dr. Leung for maybe 3 minutes. He sent me back for an x-ray and forgot I was there. Ater an hour he came in with a prescription pad and before looking at the x-rays and he said there is nothing wrong, I'm just going to give you a pill. Taking the x-rays he had ordered to UC Davis, I received a diagnosis and respect. Everything was explained to me in great detail and I was told what to expect and the possibility of surgery. Ironically, I was there a good 3 hours, but it was well worth the wait to be treated decently. more

Dr. Eager - unprofessional, zero bedside manner, cruel 6/30/2008

My knee replacement surgery was performed by Dr. Murata. Dr. Eager was covering for the group over the weekend. He came into my room, did not introduce himself, and proceeded to accuse me of pulling out my catheter. He was insulting, rude, raising his voice and most importantly WRONG. He blamed the nurses, stating they had told him I had pulled the catheter, which they did not, nor had had I. It was a woman in another room. He did not apologize until my husband spoke with him, and then apologized like a petulant child stating he said he was sorry, what else could he do?? which he repeated several times. I was so distraught, crying, frightened and embarrassed. He was a menace to my emotional state!!! more

Very Good Care By Competent Orthopedic Medical Group 7/23/2005

Two members of my immediate family have found reason to use the services of Alpine Orthopaedic Medical Group, Inc., (diabetic with severely impacted ingrown toenail and torn rotator cuff with pinched brachial nerve). Although this is a very popular, therefore busy group, both surgeons were pleasant, caring, and highly skilled, taking the time to answer all questions and put the patient at ease. Recoveries were relatively painless, and although one patient wanted rapid return to work, the Doctor correctly cautioned on taking it slow, allowing for plenty of PT and healing. The result? Both family members are pain-free and have wonderful freedom of mobility. Many thanks to AOMG. Recommended! PROS: Competent, Caring Surgeons CONS: Some Insurance Companies May Not Use This Group more
