Missing Toby-Todd. :( 1/11/2011

Last night, we went into Alpine with our Cat because he was breathing really oddly and having a hard time walking and what-not. There was something seriously wrong. They took Toby right away, and started examing him, which was very comforting to me.. They walked us through step-by-step and okayed everything before they did it and gave us an explaination as to why they were doing things they were. In the end, Toby ended up having to be put down, and it was one of the hardest things we had to do. They comforted us and explained Toby's condition as well as that there was so little hope for nursing him back to health. They were so honest with us, even if it hurt.. They staff was kind, caring and supportive through our sudden and rough time. Thank you Alpine staff and Doctor (Night of 1/10/11), You guys will hold a special place in our heart... more

Vca Alpine Animal Hospital is terrific 9/26/2009

I am a cat person, currently have three, and have assumed for the past 20 years that the obvious place to take cats for care is a cats-only facility. The place I have been going to is lovely, they serve coffee, the attached store is fun and the vets/staff are very nice, but I have to admit that the care itself has been very mixed. I finally decided to try another clinic and, on the recommendation of a friend, took my three cats to Dr. Van Vanosdoll at the Alpine Animal Hospital in Issaquah. Long drive for me, but well worth the trip. In a word, Dr. Van is terrific. I learned more in that one visit about my cats and their various health issues than I have in countless pet exams over the years. He is extraordinarily thorough, caring and took the time to review options and make suggestions for the variety of issues that each one of my cats has. For example: one of my cats has a very strong allergic reaction to annual shots . . . as in I actually took him to an emergency hospital in the m more

Vca Alpine Animal Hospital - great care so far! 8/18/2009

I took my 8 week old puppy there was was very impressed with the service. The staff was very nice and polite. The vet was very well informed and answered all my questios. A few days later I had to call for a few questions and the tech was very friendly and caring. The only thing I can complain about was that the floor was dirty with dog hair- but it's a vet clinic right?? more

So Far So Good 7/15/2008

We recently moved to Issaquah from the Midwest and needed a new vet. We chose Alpine mainly because we had been taking our dog to a VCA hospital before and received excellent care there. Last time I took my dog in because she was sneezing blood. Dr. Cotton was thorough and spent a good amount of time to insure that more advance and invasive diagnostic procedures was NOT necessary. She called back with blood work results as promised and never pushed for any kind of treatment. \r \r So far, so good. more

do NOT take your pet there! 6/12/2008

I was extremely disappointed with Alpine Animal Hospital. Our cat had a bladder failure, and was treated at Alpine for 3 days with little improvement. We later transferred him to a different hospital where we found that a urine test, a bladder ultra sound, and draining of the bladder would have allowed them to accurately and effectively treat our cat. Those simple tests and procedures were NOT done at Alpine, instead they proceeded to inject him with expensive medications that cost us $2100 for 3 nights. I felt that basic test would have alleviated his condition sooner and eliminated the need for so many medication. Additionally, they failed to call when they said they would and were vague about their treatment. I felt that the hospital and the staff were very unprofessional with poor communication and treatment of our pet. more

Good for an emergency 4/6/2005

This is my emergency vet, and I've appreciated that they have spent a good amount of time with me on the phone determining if I need to bring my dog in or not. Now, every clinic should do this but they don't all! We've been in once for an emergency, and I have to admit I wished they'd been more caring. I understand 'triage' - I used to be a vet tech. But my 140 lb dog couldn't walk and I sat out in the waiting room sobbing for over 3 hours. They did eventually take my dog into the back to wait, but I would have preferred they find us both a sitting room to wait in. I did appreciate the vet being open to my concerns. I use holistic care so I am more used to sensitive treatment and using less toxic medications. So the vet at Alpine was very good about finding a medication for my dog we were both comfortable with. I wouldn't want to go here for all my appointments but so far its alright in an emergency. more

Saved my kitty! 2/25/2005

Alpine Animal Hospital saved my big boy kitty, Gerry after an unfortunate act of cruelty. Gerry was shot by someone with a pellet gun and was badly injured. We rushed him to Alpine and they knew within a couple of hours exactly what was wrong with him and how to fix it. We were so thankful and grateful to them. They comforted us in our time of need and Gerry too! more
