Alpha Properties NYC

Gilad is the worst. I first reached out to him via the Internet, I saw a listing under his name that suited my price range and appeared to fit my needs. He suggested that we set up a day to view apartments based on my needs ( price range, amenities, location, etc.). We were in a time crunch to find an apartment in one day. He made multiple promises throughout the day such as price negotiation, move-in availability, and apartment repairs. He also did not fully disclose the cost of apartment applications, frequently saying that if we liked a place we should put in multiple applications, that they were only $30-$40. Reality: none of the apartments were in our price range, but in the end we were able to locate an apartment that would work (of course, above our price range). We filled out the application ($100) and this was when we had to put $500 deposit down, a far cry from$30-$40. He assured us that we would be able to negotiate the rent. Reality: rent price could not be negotiated, and this was when his English became so difficult to understand that we were then communicating by text (obviously someone else was writing). This broker and his agency Alpha Properties left a very unsavory feeling and the business office seemed a front for some kind of questionable operation. At the end of the day, I would never recommend using this Gilad and Alpha Properties. more

Honestly in the beginning i thought hunting for an apartment in NYC was going to be a nightmare again. Then I came across from one of the listings from Alpha contacted them, saw apartments ( Variety.....) turn in all the paperwork they needed from me and my guarantor. Then when I finally decided for an apartment they did their thing and boom done deal. more

We had to pay Alpha a huge broker's fee to get nothing but terrible service from them. After we handed in our paperwork the broker told us everything checked out and had us come in to sign the lease. 1 week before move-in the broker tells us we now need a guarantor and that the apartment owner never accepted our application. After we expedited the guarantor information to Alpha, they told us a day before we move in that they messed up and sent us the wrong guarantor form. So we still cannot have access to the apartment until they send us the correct form and we overnight the information again at our expense. When we called alpha to find out more information and see what we needed to do, the broker dodged our calls because he didn't feel like explaining himself. We basically paid $15K up front and got nothing but aggravation from alpha. I am writing this review to others looking to rent in nyc so they do not use alpha properties, it will just make the process more stressful. more

I felt inclined to write as I felt they were pushy, rude and arrogant. They treat you like you owe them something more

I must say I'm not the kind of guy to write a review online.. however working with Alpha's agents (I actually worked with two of them), I got a better understanding of the market and found an apartment pretty quick! I've rented several apartments in this city and assure you it's not always the case.. thank you Sunny for your help, patience and understanding of my needs. Ben more
