I found him from a friend. Recenlty got an audit and my ex accountant scared the daylights out of me. Went to Yoram and he saved my ...... had to pay about $ 800 to our beloved gov't ( no big deal) but Yoram charged me a flat fee about $ 500 to do the audit. Other accounants wanted to charge by the hour, he said he did not want to take advantge to my problem and I appreciate that, I will stay with him and you should go also. more

I really found that I could ask the questions that other tax preparation companies would not answer. At Jackson Huit they would just tell me that I did not qualify or that the advice required more money than their basic service allowed. Mr. Shakib was very helpfull and explained it all in simple easy to understand language. We got all of our deducations and he found others that we never knew we could get. He costs more than the others but who cares when you saved ten times more than the other tax places. Alphatax is one of those few diamonds in the rough that I am happy to recommend. I have been getting my taxes done by Yoram Shakib for several years now and I have always had a great experience working with him and his staff. His office is very organized as well as always following up with me in a timely manner regarding my taxes. I am always able to have my questions answered quickly and effectively. I used to always get nervous getting my taxes done but since I was referred to Yoram, I always feel like a priority and things get done quickly and painlessly. Yoram Shakib has been doing my taxes for years and I have always been given the best service. He's a straight shooter which I appreciated because discussing a personal subject such as money is never comfortable and it allowed me to be blunt myself. I have been able to call several times to ask follow up questions and his staff has always helped me. It is a fast paced atmosphere in his office but there's definitely a family feel. Yoram is quite knowledgeable in this field and he makes doing taxes less painful. He also does a great job with bookkeeping as he has been taking care of my business' for years as well. I cross paths all the time with people who've used this idiot, Yoram, in the past. They ALL have horror stories to tell. For starters, he allocates only 20 minutes per client - regardless of how complicated your taxes are to prepare - and a trap door practically opens up underneathe you to swallow you whole once this time limit is up. You are rudely ushered out of his office, even if you're in mid-sentence questioning your tax preperations. Furthermore, I know two people who've been audited after he prepared their taxes! This guy is incompetant, rude, surly, arrogant and boorish. I can't imagine who would ever further entrust him with their tax needs after trying him just once. He's also a slob which makes it painful to even look at him!! Pros: good location Cons: everything else... more

As the previous comment stated- stay away from this company. They are unprofessional and do not explain anything to you. They rush you through like you are a number to them. Stay away....and if you are already a client, I suggest you take strong referrals from friends you trust. Cons: everything...bad company more
