Go with Pelleve - the new skin tightener. I paid 500 for 2 treatments and although I only see minimal improvement around my eyes (I couldn't handle the heat so I guess it's my fault) I did see REMARKABLE improvement in the lines around my mouth and cheeks (when I smile, those small long lines - hated that!!!). I have a fair complexion and was experiencing mild rosacea and enlarged pores. I tried topical treatment for the rosacea, prescribed by ""myself"", but felt that photophacial would be a more natural solution.(I'm not into taking medication when there's an alternative). more

I was really impressed with how I was treated at Allure being that I was coming in with a coupon deal for three treatments. (A lot of times spas put out coupon deals and then try to push other treatments on you or don't give you the same experience as they would other customers, but that was not at all the case here). Everyone from the receptionist to the treatment specialists were very friendly, accommodating, and professional. The place is not huge but is set up very nicely, with a warm and relaxing feel. I'd definitely come back. more

STAY Far Far Far AWAY - AWFUL COSTUMER SERVICE - RUDE & UNPROFESSIONAL!. This has got to be the WORST place I have ever been to in my entire life. I have never written a review, neither good or bad about any place but was so disgusted by my treatment here that I was compelled to write something. The disgusting, disrespectful, and obnoxious receptionist lady will not set up the right app ... which need to be every week ....the place looks empty and she tell you they are fully booked???? Also they smoke right outside the door once you entrr inside ...you just need a drink...so you dont smell their smokey hands....Please Save Your TIME and nerves and money .... more

I have been coming to the center for about 2 years now and I have gotten the best service consistently summer after summer! location is great, the staff is very helpful and accommodating, rooms are nice and spacious and the appointments are always sharp on time! if you are considering cellulite treatment in Queens , this is the place to go to! highly recommended. more

Thanks to the proliferation of group deal websites, I'm gradually becoming acquainted with NY spa offerings, and so far, Allure is hands-down my favorite of the bunch. is! It's clean and well-designed, efficient, reasonably priced (compared to some of the competition), calming, hard sometimes hard to get appointment's , and my facial with Carolina was GREAT. more

This has got to be the WORST place I have ever been to in my entire life. The disgusting, disrespectful, and obnoxious receptionist lady is just appalling and the technician is no better. Anyone thinking of going here should promptly reconsider. I purchased a groupon for velashape and have since called groupon, made a complaint and requested it be elevated and received a refund. I called Allure on my way from the train, approximately 5 minutes after my appointment time and noone answered. I called again while walking to the place and explained that I was running late, apologized, and explained I was on my way. I got to the place approximately 10 minutes after my appointment time and the treatment I received was nothing less than despicable. As an initial matter the stupid receptionist insinuated that I was lying about calling and that there was someone there the entire time to answer the phone - despite the fact that I had proof on my phone that I called. I even tried to show her but she was uninterested. She was so incredibly rude that I could not imagine having any treatment there. She then told me that they would take time off of my treatment. I requested rescheduling because this initial experience started out so negative that I was physically shaking from being so upset. She explained that I would lose the appointment and it would be canceled. The technician (who I also think is the owner) was standing there the entire time and I asked if this is how they treat costumers and she just looked at me completely clueless. I asked if she was even licensed because the entire business seemed shady and unprofessional and she just nodded but I am certainly skeptical. While she never said anything rude or nasty like the receptionist, the fact that she stood there the entire time and let a customer/patient be treated like that makes her just as despicable. As a separate matter, another appointment was scheduled less than 30 minutes after mine which makes me think that they intended on doing a half ass treatment anyway. The only positive experience about this was that Groupon was really great about promptly refunding me my money. If anyone is interested in doing such treatments, I would recommend that they go to a place that is at least overseen by a doctor which would be a bit more legit and hopefully more professional. As for Allure - stay the heck away!!! more

This place was wonderful when I went with my Groupon. Carolina herself did my facial with all organic delicious products and explained everything she was doing as she did it, and even offered to give me another one down the road at the same discounted price. She was super sweet. I am going back again soon. more

Expensive? Yes. Worth Every Penny? Absolutely. I just can't say enough positive things about Allure Skincare in Astoria . People have told me that I wouldn't be able to do laser hair removal as I have fine, sandy blonde hair. Well, Allure must have a machine of the gods, because it works extremely well on me. I'm really blown away by the results. I'm also blown away by the very limited amount of pain I experienced. I am a complete wimp when it comes to waxing and I barely even felt this, even on the highest level. Apparently their machine has some sort of cooling device that minimizes discomfort. I don't know the science, I just know I like it. And, of course, the place is exceptionally clean and professional. I couldn't be happier. Laser bikini hair removal is just not the kind of thing you want to skimp on. I am happy to pay for the best. more

First of all, the prices are great, and the lowest I've found in the entire Queens and NYC. I had been ""shopping"" around for photofacial treatments for several months before deciding on this place. Valerie is Amazing she gave me a 15 minute consultation before my treatment. Valerie explained every aspect of the procedure and how my skin would benefit from it. I had other consultations at other places, but always felt like they just wanted my money. Valerie actually asked me lots of questions about my skin. This place DOES NOT try to hard sell you the packages, but they are available if you want them. It allows you, the consumer, to decide for yourself. Their concern is to make you look your best by taking into consideration your skin type and tone. And of course, because the prices are so low, I will keep going back for more. The procedure itself was not so bad. It took about 25 minutes plus another 15 minutes for the mask. I've read that photofacials feel like a rubber band snap against your skin, but it felt less than that. It was not uncomfortable at all. I was able to see results after about second session. Allure's staff is very knowlegeable and ensured I was comfortable at all times. Valerie walked me through every step of the procedure. more

Well this is long over due, but very much a necessity. I'm on my 5th session now and I have nothing to say but wonderful things about Allure skincare and Valerie!!! As you can tell from all the rave reviews, this place is nothing short of wonderful. They are so accommodating and attentive to your every need. There equipment is the newest and best that is out there and the most painless treatment I've ever had.... REALLY! You can tell they really are aware of their clients and what is the most effective and efficient way to serve them. Service by Valerie: She is nothing but amazing and attentive. She is there for ""you""! She is always making sure you don't have any pain and making sure you are wowed by your results. She is professional and caring, and I am so happy to have her as my Laser Genie Nurse! What I get lasered is the back of my neck and I haven't had one hair grow since. I've followed Valerie instructions to wear sunscreen and exfoliate and I haven't had any bumps or issues that can arise from laser treatment. My neck is smooth and free of all the stragglers I had before. I also had my underarms lasered once cause they had a deal, and I'm a sucker for deals. I swear ever since that one laser treatment my hair has grown thinner and less of it ever since.... AND ITS BEEN 5 MONTHS! If I was made of money i'd buy a package for that too. But one step at a time. The prices are on the more expensive side for laser treatment, BUT, you have to take in the account: you are getting the best laser equipment out there, its almost painless, and your quality of care is unmatched. That in it self is worth it to me, BESIDES, they always have deals. Either on their website or through other channels like Living social, groupon and so forth and so on. I've been getting endermologie treatments for about a month now. I go two times a week and have started to see results. My skin appears more toned and I think my ""love handles"" are starting to go away. The changes are subtle so it's good to take before/after pictures but I'm happy with the results so far. Valerie and her staff are great and make you feel so at ease. The treatments are painless - at most they sometimes feel like a deep tissue massage - and pretty affordable. What can I say about Valerie and Allure that hasn't already been said? nothing LASER IS LIFE CHANGING! I love this place. I'm hooked and saving up for more. Hair that I could not deal with anymore..poof! GONE!! I'm only half way through my treatment package (3 of 6) and I'm totally satisfied with the progress. It's thinned out quite a bit and I'm confident I will not need more than 6 treatments. This place is so clean and professional I would not go elsewhere. Very personal treatment. Not to mention, the office is quiet and quite beautiful. I don't think the prices are too high and would be weary of places that are cheaper. This is a laser, it can burn you and it is a big deal- be wise about where you go. That said, I would not consider it to be a painful experience. By the time I actually realize it hurts, the pain is basically gone. I would highly recommend Allure Skincare and Laser to anyone. This is the first place and only place I'll go. more

Got a photofacial here during a Groupon Deal . Good things about this place: 1) Friendly staff! Not snobby. Greets you when you come, no waiting time, no New York b*tchiness at all. 2) Experienced and no-nonsense. 3) A good experience overall-- Valerie checked throughout the facial to make sure I was comfortable and was very gentle. 4) I did end up buying a product but it was something very fully linked to my concerns and their prices are fair (as I checked out online later). 5) Even though I was a Groupon customer, they treated me well and not like someone they were trying to push through. In general my experiences have been good and I was pleased with Valerie. Would recommend! more

Discovered Allure Skincare because I bought groupon deals for a total of 3 Photo Facial sessions. I have had some previous experience with Photo Rejuvenation before, but none were nearly as impressive as Allure. The private Room are very clean and organized, you can tell that they really know what they're doing here. I have had 2 sessions so far with Valerie, who is not only professional but extremely friendly and warm. She walked me through some necessary information before our first session and made me feel very comfortable right off the bat. I am already seeing results after 2 sessions. Can't wait to finish the entire package! The prices here (without a groupon) I believe are pretty standard for NYC, but they also sell packages which make it a little more affordable. I can see myself coming back here in the future even without a discount deal, just because they are so professional. more

I bought a laser hair removal package through a deal coupon online for Allure. THIS PLACE IS WONDERFUL! They are the sweetest people ever. Incredibly helpful and informative! The laser they use for hair removal really works!!! I have gone once now for underarms and I am in the first hair free period and I LOVE NOT SHAVING!!!! I am seriously referring everyone I know to go to Allure. They have a kickbutt referral program too so call and inquire about that. I can't tell you how happy I am with the laser hair removal I got done at Allure. Valerie is fabulous . more

After years of suffering from painful ingrowns, the embarrasment of trying to grow out my bikini line in between waxings, boyfriend gifted me 6 sessions of laser hair removal at ALLURE Laser Center. So here's the thing, Allure is the best. The place is BEAUTIFUL. All white and airy and bright and it somehow always smells amazing in here. The customer service is impeccable. After my complimentary test patch, they sent me home with very detailed care instructions and called me the next day to make sure everything was ok. While I was warned that I might feel some discomfort similar to a bad sunburn, that was not my experience. Things ""down there"" are usually a little red for a few hours post treatment but by the next day everything feels fine. As for the actual treatment- dont be scared about it hurting- especially if youre used to waxing. The laser feels like a sharp pin prick (of course some spots are more sensitive than others) but with each prick you have the satisfaction of knowing youre one step closer to being hair free! I just came back from my 4th treatment. At this point I dont have to shave for about 2-3 weeks after treatment and my in growns have almost disappeared. Allure is worth the cost. They make you feel comfortable, relaxed, and taken care of. Dont waste your money at some place cheap and risk getting burned- Allure where its at! more

I came to Allure skincare initially in June with an online deal for Endermologie treatments. I was really pleased with the atmosphere and the owner, Valerie, who does her best to make the customer happy. I believe she has one other employee who works in the evenings but I have only had her once. Normally, its the owner. I used my 4 gift certificates and decided to buy a package to see ""noticeable"" improvement in my jelly. You know. MY JELLY! Most girls who aren't a size 2 can admit to having some areas that could use some touching up. I have to admit the endermologie machine does work. BUT it takes many treatments, say about 4-6 to see a difference. I have had maybe 8 treatments . My legs and butt are very smooth and I can't see any cellulite pockets anymore, but keep in mind I am 26% body fat 5'5"" 140lbs and just need some minor touch-ups. This is not going to be a miracle machine for people who are overweight. She says it also helps tighten the skin by stimulating the collagen and cell turn over. I'll just take her word for it. I will say this is not a ""frilly fru fru"" place. If you are a Red Door Spa member, it's probably not for you. It is truly a small business experience and amazing personalized service. more

I started going to Allure Skincare in June '11 I'm about halfway through the package I bought for laser hair removal and I could not be more thrilled with the results and I am SO impressed. Valerie and her assistant are just terrific, super nice, so courteous and professional. It was such a pleasure to deal with them. They made the process so easy and talked me through everything. They called me to remind me of my appointments and also called me the day after my appointments to make sure that I was ok and had no issues. The premises is spotlessly clean. I had two areas lasered and am completely blown away by the results. Highly, highly recommended...So worth it. more
