Best

It is nice having a record store in the neighborhood. Granted, it is a small store and they don't always stock the music I am searching for but they have plenty of other stuff. ...

I am a long time dj/resident in Houston. This store is one of the very last stores in Houston. I went there twice and never got to buy anything. My last visit was horrible to say ...

The Best Music store in Houston 9/22/2011

I love going to this store now in its new location. They have more music than best buy and a lot of stuff you will not be able to find in other places. Fred knows music. He knows musicians. Are you looking for something new? Just ask him. He can tell you every album that musician ever played on so you can own them all. You will love spending time in this very nice shop digging through the vinyl too. I still love a vinyl album since they sound so good and in my opinion better than CDs. Fred is the Music Man. more

Warning, 4/18/2011

I am a long time dj/resident in Houston. This store is one of the very last stores in Houston. I went there twice and never got to buy anything. My last visit was horrible to say the least. I remember this burley looking man was working there ,I wanted some info on a record. The price was high and I asked why was it priced so high ,and he told me to get out of his store. This was about 5 years ago. I never went back and never will. I did not deserve that, just for asking a question nicely. Thank goodness for city search reviews,I can warn others about this mans odd and rude behavior. Other record store are in the area shop elsewhere . more

Great Music Store 12/17/2010

For being so small they actually have a pretty good selection to choose from. A lot of alternative, classic rock and blues. They also have new releases, top 40 type albums, soundtracks, folk and even some zydeco . \r The owner is really cool. He's always helpful and knows a lot about the music he sells. He's a longtime Houston resident and has some pretty cool stories about bands that have come through town over the years. \r Definetly worth checking out! more

Hours 1/11/2010

I haven't had much contact with them, I just wanted to offer the information that they're only open until 6:30 pm Mon-Sat, not 8:00 pm. Pros: Efficient Cons: Hours more

ALLRECORDS!!!! The Last Man Standing!!! 8/13/2008

Allrecords is the last real record store in town! Literally! Every other place you go, if you ask someone a question, they have a stupid look on their face and they say, Uhhhhh I haven't ever heard of that, I like The Fray. So you have to spend you whole time in some giant warehouse place trying to find a cd without the incompetent dimwit who is hired, by the way, to help you find that music. Not here, not by a long shot. Fred is an enclycopedia of music knowledge and if you tell him the name of an album, he can usually tell you who its by, the label its on, and the year it came out. It's amazing, who needs google when you got Fred. Call him Froogle. It's sad that these giant monstrocities who only want profits and more profits and don't care about you. Fred is a breath of fresh air in a world full of pollution. Keep the small businesses alive! Support your local merchants! Pros: Customer Service, Selection, Experience, Centrally Located, FRED!!! Cons: They're not open 24 hours more
