The Rathskeller or skeller as known by Penn state students in located in state college. It's a bar/restaurant that offers a decent bar menu. The wings and burgers are the best choices. It's usually an older crowd who hangs out there. They have a nice selection of bands that provide live music there. Most Penn Staters who go to the skeller are the 5th year seniors or returning alumni for the football weekends. The prices are ok as is the quality of food. There are better places to go in State College but if you're reminiscing about your Penn State years then head to the skeller. more

Alumni Bar 8/18/2005

Est 1933, the world famous "skeller" is the meeting place for PSU students, returning alumni and visitors. Open everyday (except Sunday) for lunch, late night munching, live entertainment and all popular brands of beer and spirits. This bar is very popular with older alumni wishing to come back and reminisce, however it doesn't offer an energy filled atmosphere that some college students are looking for. more
