My son takes lessons at Allstar, and we just couldn't be happier-- It's always the same guys in there and they know us all by name. They gave us great advice, but put no pressure on us when we first bought my son's guitar (I know absolutely nothing about music) and it's wall to wall guitars, drums, other instruments, and a great atmosphere.\r I couldn't imagine going anywhere else!! I've been shopping here since they opened over 2 years ago and I must say this is the most knowledgeable staff around! I brought my guitar to get worked on and it was done right and while I waited. String prices are cheaper than Guitar Center. Good selection of used gear with good affordable new instruments as well. I don't like the Guitar Center vibe, like a loud day care center...All Star is that cool, funky music store you grew up with. Pros: Great Staff / Cheap Prices more

Inquiry about school band instrument rental was handled courteously. While they don't rent instruments, they sell both new and used. Was also referred & given directions to another store which rented instruments. Pros: Knowledgeable & Helpful more

This place stocks tons of overpriced, cheaply made foreign guitars, that are never in tune when you pick one off the wall to play. You're better off shopping for gear a flea market. They did a horrible set up on my guitar, intonation is off worse than when I took it in, action is worse than when I took it in. I don't see this place being in business more than another year. The staff are all rude every time I've been in the store, and have a very limited knowledge about the equipment. I've been playing guitar and buying musical equipment for 15 years in various come and go stores through out the south east, and I've never once been treated as horribly at one of them as I have All Star Music. I really wanted this place to be THE PLACE, as I like supporting small local businesses instead of big box chain stores, but I'll just have to keep giving my business to Music Go Round, and Atlanta Discount Guitar.
