Editorial review from Citysearch 3/26/2013

Stay away from this place. They are shysters. Horrible business people and they use every trick in the book to wear you down. I bought a Used BMW Engine that came from a Vehicle that was totaled in a Rollover in June 2009, from them in October 2012. They only way they would accept payment was to deposit Cash into their National Bank Checking Account. After I bought the engine and it was installed by a Reputable BMW Mechanic, there was no Oil Pressure. There was also moisture found in the oil residue of the engine. The Salesman, Eddy, at All Star Imports said give him some time and he will find another Engine. After almost two weeks he said he could not find another and to send him the engine back at his expense and he would refund me the entire amount of $5,700. After doing so they now have the engine and my money. They have now changed their attitude and say that my Mechanic forgot to put oil in the engine and ran the engine long enough with no oil and blew the engine. They now want to repair the engine and deduct it from the money I sent them. They never call back, I have hounded them incessantly. They are taking their sweet time and never let you contact anyone who can make decisions. It’s a mystery who the Boss is and they say he’ll call back, and never does. They use their broken English as a crutch and have more American nick names for each other than you can shake a stick at. The bottom line is it’s their word against mine. It’s a used engine. Did it ship damaged or did my mechanic forget to put oil in it and run it until it blew. I lost $3,000 installing the bad engine and now they are going to fix their engine with my money. The car was in a rollover accident, if it ran upside down it could have done the damage. If they didn’t store the BMW Engine properly, that it sat for 2 years, the Crank Vents could have clogged and cause a vacuum which could have caused this. Either way they said they tested the engine before they shipped it which I don’t believe. They had control and all the power from the start. Instead the only defense they offered was we forgot to put oil in it. So it’s either accept what they offer or pay a Lawyer to sue them in Texas. How they will learn is by feeling it in the pocket and this is the next best way to spread the word. PS: I bought another engine from another dealer and my Mechanic dropped the engine in and it runs great. He must have remembered to put oil in. more

WORST CUSTOMER SERVICE EVER!! 12/6/2011

Where do I even begin to write this review??? This company's name was given to me by a local supplier. I contacted the company, gave my vehicle information and was told that they could supply me with my product. BEWARE! This company does not accept debit/credit cards, instead you are required to send in a check and it must clear your bank before they will ship your product. I contact this business on a Monday, they had their money on Tuesday (I overnighted the check) and it cleared my bank on Tuesday PM. My promised product that was to have been shipped out on Wednesday, did not ship until the following Wednesday! We called multiple times and was lied to many times as to when the product actually shipped. When I was finally given a tracking number, that is when it was discovered the actual date of shipment. Once the product arrived, it was wrong and now my customer is further delayed. Now the product is suddenly my problem because they state that I gave them incorrect information, sounds more like they don't know what the heck they are doing! After I contacted them with the problem and found out that to return the product would require my cost to return the product and a 25% re-stocking fee. HUMM..........WHAT? I did offer to pay the shipping back to them and they could forgo the re-stocking fee. This was refused! Further phone calls have lead to the representative, Eddie, hanging up on me and my husband, talking over us during the phone call and just out right poor management on his part. I have asked to speak with the owner and Eddie does not even know his owners last name and says that he only cashes his paycheck and doesn't care to know his owners last name, can I just say, BULL! He also does not let me speak with him even when he states that he is in and I have asked for a return phone call. I guess genious doesn't realize that just because he is miles away that I cannot voice an opinion about him. The Better Business Bureau has been contacted, but unfortunately this business is not an acredited business and now I know why they have an ""F"" rating. My customer has now been without their car for over two weeks and my quote for a used part will now turn into a new part for them to fullfill my obligation to my customer and have them satisfied and out the door. I don't run my business with poor customer service and I expect parts suppliers that I deal with to have the same character. Unfortunately, this company does not have that integrity or business concept. We are small business owners working hard to have a good reputation and excellent quality service. Now I understand why they do not accept debit/credit cards, it is so they can get your money and then not fill obligated to further aide you when something is wrong. more
