We Love our Puppy: 7/29/2011

Our Puppy was purchased at the All Pets Club in July. We had a good experience our puppy is healthy and socialized making his adjustment to our home easy and enjoyable. The puppy was easy to ""potty train"" and is very intellegent. The pet dept. manager was very informative in regards to the different types of dog food available and what the differences were in the ingredients listed. I was not impressed with one aspect of the transaction however and believe to be a realistic review it should be stated. When our older dog vistited the puppy at the store she developed a ""cold"" and a cough. I brought this to the attention to the staff and asked if that could be a problem. The Baby also had a runny nose. Turned out.... Both dogs were fine. But the impression I perceived was, when the sale is complete, that severs the relationship. After the initial call to check on the puppy No one called to re-check on the older dogs health nor the status of the puppy when it was explained a trip to the vet regarding coughing was necessary. I was amazed so many outside dogs were brought to the store to visit the puppies and not one owner was asked if their dogs had current shots or if the pet was in good health. This could compromise the puppies health as well. ""Kennel cough"" could be a problem with dogs brought from other areas to be purchased, as well as dogs on the outside brought in by the public to visit that have no information provided. While we were there several bigger agressive dogs almost started a dog ruckus which went unnoticed. The overall experience was wonderfull. I must state, we were there 2x per day at different times, visiting the puppy, the place was clean.. Even the bird cages were clean. The puppies seemed playful and happy. Our dog is wonderful. I would recommend the "All Pets Club" to anyone. Our experience as stated, was favorable. more

Thank You Guys. 7/14/2011

Dogs are like people not everyone is perfect they get sick just as easily as babies. The puppies constantly get taking out to be played with and are around so many other dogs that they are bound to get colds every now and than. All pets club takes the best care of the dogs it sell out of any pet store. If you go to the mall and see the pet store. they are usually coved in poop and in single little cages. At all pets they all play and run around and are cleaned daily. more

Good luck. 7/8/2011

We were referred to All Pets Club twice by complete strangers on seperate occasions. We went to both Branford and Wallingford, but we ended up purchasing our puppy in Wallingford. He came with papers that show what breeder he is from and I did some research online to find that the breeder is accredited and highly regarded. We had a great experience with All Pets Club and wouldn't hesitate to recommend them. It's scary buying a pet, especially from a pet store, and even more so when you don't know what to look for. But buying a pet happens so suddenly -- you know you've found the one and you end up taking him home. Be sure to educate yourself on warning signs. Make sure the puppy doesn't have a cold. Touch his nose. Make sure his gums aren't white or yellow. Check for foul breath. Make sure his behind isn't crusty or enflamed. Check his vet records when they make them available. Ask questions. Look for the Healthy Dog section on American Kennel Club's web site. If you're in doubt, you can always put down a deposit and come back in a few days to check him again. I will say that All Pets Club is different from other pet stores. It seems that they've done anything a pet store could do to rise above the bad name that pet stores have. In the end, I guess that doesn't matter as much as where the puppies came from, but I just can't imagine a store getting any better than this. If you do buy from them, buy with the confidence that you are at least buying from the best possible pet store and could only do better with a very reputable breeder who just happens to have an available puppy of your desire. The advantage of buying at a pet store is that you get a guarantee -- not like you would ever want to use one, because who wants to return a pet for a refund? Coverage for major conditions is better than no coverage at all. A cold spreads quickly between dogs just like it does children. Most of the time it's not a big deal. I hope this review helped. Good luck. more

I have 3 dogs from All Pets Club. 6/30/2011

I have 3 dogs from All Pets Club. They are my life, I treat them as if they were human at times. My experience with the store has been perfect. The staff has been extremely helpful and knowledgeable. I received phone calls to check up on my new puppies. They knew my dogs by names. I visit the store to get my supplies and bring my dogs into visit. I am amazed at how clean the store is and how well the animals are maintained. Hell, i never even see poop in the dog pens. All said, things do happen. People get colds, dogs get colds. Its part of life. Life is unpredictable. Prochnikc, its sad to hear whats going on with your puppy but I find it very hard to believe that the store basically told you to go pound sand. I know with my puppies I had the right to return the dog in the first 20 days if there was anything wrong period. I actually had to read this in the warranty and sign that I accepted the responsibility. I am sure if you go back and read what you have signed and accepted you will see that you have the same exact rights. It appears that you have chosen to follow your own path and not the path that you agreed to upon purchasing the dog. Then it seems that you have to tell the world what a bad place All Pets Club is because you chose to do things all your way, but not the way you agreed upon with All Pets Club. I really do hope your dog is doing better. You will not sway me and thousands of others to do our shopping elsewhere as we appreciate a good business and a great bunch of people. more

Thank You APC 5/6/2011

I can't believe all the negative experiences I am reading about. So I thought I would share my positive experience with All Pets Club. My sister had purchased two dogs from the Wallingford location and was very happy. So it's exactly where we went to get our Pup. We just wanted a family pet and not a pedigree dog. The minute we laid eyes on our Corgi we fell in love with him. He is a gorgeous dog, and I have nothing but good things to say about the quality animal we received. When buying him he did have worms, which our vet said was completely normal for any puppies. But our vet said she was completely impressed with the puppy, seeing as she had heard horror stories from All Pets. I did call the store to let them know about our dogs worms, and the manager seem concerned, and even offered to take the puppy back. I was highly impressed. When I went to have my little guy neutered, turns out it was going to be a more intense procedure than just a simple snip. I had read about this being in the warranty, and after my little guys procedure I brought the copy of the receipt to the manager and they cut me a check to pay for the more expensive procedure! I'm sorry that these other posters have had such a bad experience, but I love All Pets. I've owned my dog 2 years now and couldn't be happier with him. He is completely healthy, has a fantastic temperament, and I've had strangers comment on how gorgeous of a Corgi he is. I am completely satisfied with All Pets and would not hesitate to purchase another dog from them again. more

OOOHH YEAH !! 3/23/2011

I AM WRITING TO COMPLIMENT ALL PETS CLUB FOR HAVING SUCH AN OUTSTANDING EMPLOYEE AS MR. JEFF. JEFF HELPED MY HUSBAND AND I SELECT AN APPROPRIATE DOG FOOD FROM YOUR STORE TO HELP OUR DOG, GABBIE, WHO HAS SKIN ALLERGIES AND SPECIAL NEEDS. OUR GABBIE IS A SENIOR DOG WHO IS 10 YEARS OLD AND HAS BEEN SUFFERING WITH HER HEALTH FOR SOME TIME DUE TO WRONG CHOICES IN DOG FOOD. JEFF WAS VERY CARING, VERY KNOWLEDGEABLE AND GAVE US GUIDANCE THAT ANSWERED ALL OUR QUESTIONS TO PURCHASE AN APPROPRIATE FOOD FOR OUR DOG AND HER NEEDS. HE HAS DONE MORE FOR US IN THE SHORT CONVERSATION WE HAD WITH HIM, THAN OUR VET HAS DONE FOR US IN YEARS. I AM VERY GRATEFUL TO SAY THAT GABBIE’S HEALTH HAS BLOSSOMED. SHE IS NO LONGER SUFFERING WITH HER SKIN AND SHE HAS BECOME VERY HAPPY AND VERY PLAYFUL THANKS TO THE DECISIONS WE MADE WITH JEFF’S GUIDANCE. JEFF IS VERY INSTRUMENTAL IN ANSWERING OUR QUESTIONS REGARDING YOUR PRODUCTS PROMPTLY AND EFFICIENTLY. HE IS A MOST PLEASANT PERSON TO SPEAK WITH. HE IS INTELLIGENT AND IS ALWAYS PROFESSIONAL WHEN WE SPEAK TO HIM. WE PURCHASE OUR DOG FOOD AT ALL PETS CLUB WEEKLY, THANKS TO JEFF’S SERVICE AND ALWAYS LOOK FORWARD TO SEEING HIM. THANK YOU FOR HIRING SUCH A TALENTED AND DEDICATED INDIVIDUAL. JEFF IS AN EXCELLENT ASSET IN YOUR STAFF AT ALL PETS CLUB. WE ARE GRATEFUL TO HAVE MET HIM. more

Very Satisfied Customer 4/15/2010

I have five dogs from this store and have never been more pleased. My oldest is 14 years old and my youngest is 9 mos. The service is impeccable and I have heard on many occasions the store referred to in comparison to a five star hotel. They are licensed and I feel more protected purchasing from professionals rather than backyard breeders. The staff is very compassionate and supportive. This store deserves a two thumbs up! more

stay away 12/8/2009

sick puppies, unsympathetic staff, consistent use of puppy mills. take your money to a real breeder. even if it costs more up front, you'll save the money in the long run when you don't have to pay for antibiotics for your dogs inevitable ear infections, parasites, and other illnesses they send these puppies home with. more

Boycott Them!!! 12/30/2008

Animal food is not stored properly and frequently gets infested with bugs. Their small animals and birds are kept in overcrowded, unclean cages not to mention the cages that the customers DON'T see! Sick animals are left to die in dirty containers away from the "sales floor" - no vet care is given unless the customer who is purchasing it notes illness. Someone buying a pomeranian puppy had to wait over a week to take the dog home b/c they noticed the dog had bloody diahrea and they had to wait for the vet to come back to the store and see the dog. The store did not take the dog to the vet - they waited for the vet to come to the store! Every single puppy sold there comes from puppy mills - the same with the birds and small animals. And the employees are INSTRUCTED to lie about where they come from. A family member purchased a chihuahua from them and spent well over $4000 in vet bills the first year - puppy was extremely sick, has many intestinal issues and luxating patella. A friend purchased a pomeranian puppy there - it had coccidia, giardia, and campylobacter. Puppy is less than 2 years old and needs a $2000 surgery to alleviate knee and hip pain due to such poor breeding. A guinea pig that developed many health problems due to the horrible food they feed was going to be sold as snake food. It was rescued by a worker and brought back to health. I know first hand that these people could not care any less about animals - they are only in it for the money. They have no problems knowingly purchasing puppies from puppy mills and selling sick animals. They should go back to running the "cafe" they used to run. more

Never again! 6/28/2007

I recently purchased a puppy from this business after having purchased 2 from the store 8 years ago. I didn't have the best experience this time around. Aside from other issues, the puppy came home with kennel cough but is recovering. I notifed the store owner of my issues, but really didn't receive any satisfaction, other than the owner said he'd have a staff meeting every 3 weeks instead of every 4 weeks. This did not address my issues and the owner didn’t seem to understand the concern I had for the health of the puppy. At the least, I think they should have offered to pay for the $20 medication that the puppy had to be on. The owner was personally upset that I was critical of the store and wanted me to post a review to the contrary. He even told me that he was banning me from the store but recanted that statement later on. I believe these puppies come from commercial breeders. The store owner should ask his breeders to provide a contact number so buyers can speak to the breeder directly regarding any questions they have on the puppy's heritage. Also it would be nice if they could supply a little puppy album showing the puppy growing up in the breeders homes. That would go far to alleviate any concerns. I will personally choose to use an reputable AKC local breeder in the future however. more

they get their dogs from puppy mills 8/30/2006

it's a fact!! and they claim not to. don't be fooled. i found out the hard way. my puppy got sick about 2 weeks after we got her and the vet said it was something that she had been carrying with her for a while. the "professional breeder" that supplied the puppy to all pets club keeps nearly 200 adult dogs on site at a time. If that's not a puppy mill, what is??? boycott them!!!!!!!!!!!!!! more
