The home that I was renting was foreclosed on because the owner defaulted on the loan, and didn't bother to tell me. I only had a week until the deadline to vacate the premises, from the company who bought it at the auction. The movers that moved me here were great, but had nothing open for the 31st. I called All my Sons, and was told there would be no problem geting me out in time. I called their office this morning and let them know that I was behind in packing, and asked if they coudl come later in the day. I was assured that it wouldn't be a problem and they could help me pack upon arrival. When they showed up at my door, the crew leader didn't greet me or introduce himself. He looked over my shoulder and said there was too much to move in one day. There were several calls back and forth between him and the owner, and then the owner and myself. They agreed to do it until I told them that I had plenty of packing supplies and wouldn't need to buy supplies from them. The last time the owner called me, he quoted me a price of $1600 more for their supplies and time helping to pack. This was a $2600 increase in the estimated cost. After that, the owner said he would come out to see the situation himself. When he arrived I told him that I still had several boxes and 9 of the 3 and 4 foot plastic containers left to pack in. That's when they decided to walk off the job, knowing that I had to be out today or else. Mind you, I was paying by the hour, so they wouldn't lose a dime on the deal. I had asked them to start loading the numerous boxes and backyard furniture while I continued to pack, but they refused to load anything unless I bought their supplies, which ran $20 per roll of tape, and I was afraid to ask what their boxes went for. That's when I called Movin On, out of San Antonio, the ones I had used previously. They couldn't have been nicer. They agreed to show up at 8 a.m., with a five man crew and two trucks.. I have never seen movers who worked so fast and so hard in my life. They are a Christian based company and have impeccable manners and work ethics. Unless you have bottomless pockets and enjoy , working with people who act as though they're the ones doing you the favor, I suggest you try Movin On or anyone else for that matter.
