All In One Bake Shop

We are very lucky in Austin to have a great baking supply shop like All In One. All In One carries professional-quality pans and cake/cookie supplies that aren't available at hobby stores like Michael's. The staff will go out of their way to answer your questions about caking/baking. I have shopped there regularly for about 4 years, and have only positive things to say about this great store. I love this store, the people who work there are so nice and helpful and always take time to answer my amateur questions. Unfortunately they don't carry that many different fondant cutters (like ones from other countries). It seems they are mostly focused on Wilton supplies which aren't the best quality and there's not much to choose from. Probably better to buy online for that stuff. As for the other part of their business, the custom cakes: The designs are not executed that well. The work seems sort of rushed and sloppy. However, they are pretty cheap, so if you're on a tight budget that is good. I'm still looking for a shop that executes custom cakes in a more polished and modern way. Any suggestions? I ordered a cake for a baby shower I hosted and was SO pleased with the results! I e-mailed a photo of the crib bedding my friend had picked and asked them to design the cake to match. Well, it turned out beautifully! Kristie was my cake baker and she is truly talented. Everyone commented on how beautiful the cake looked. And then when we cut into it and served it everyone commented on how delicious it tasted! The All In One Bake Shop now tops my list of Austin bakeries. Pros: beautiful, tasty cakes! more

I definitely love the store part. They have SO much to offer ~ it's like being a kid in Toy Joy! I'll have to agree that the customer service is lacking. Although the store part is AMAZING, I'm still not sure about the bakery side. \r I had my wedding cakes made here. After specifically addressing some issues with the baker (Kristie), she assured me that my idea would work & turn out beautiful. When I went to pick up my cake (an hour before the wedding!), all of my fondant hearts had slid down my cake creating a red mess. I had asked her when placing my order if fondant would be too heavy with the whipped icing, but she said it would be fine. It was horrible. Luckily, she 'attempted' to fix the problem. Hours later at the reception they had slid down again, but everyone thought that it was the effect I was going for I guess. I have photos & it was not pretty to me. =( The cake itself was not as good as I thought it would be either. But I have returned to order a birthday cake because it's too big of a task for me. I had the worst customer experience in my life with All in One Bake Shop. I am actually quite surprised how a customer service oriented business as such treats their customers. They made a mistake with a cake I ordered for a special occasion and then had the audacity to blame their miscommunication on me. I had to go to HEB and buy a pre-made cake 1 hour before the party I was hosting. To make matters worse, they were completely unapologetic and surprisingly rude! I highly recommend not choosing them for your special cake - as they will not deliver and you will have horrible customer service. Cons: Horrible customer service more
