Our cat Charcoal was very sick Sunday morning. We called & left a message @ the clinic. We were contacted within 5 minutes. We took him to the clinic immediately.
Upon arrival, the vet placed us in a room, did a check-over of him, & explained that he probably had cancer, and that it would be a miracle if he survived the night. She said she'd take some x-rays to see if anything could be done.
About an hour later, she called, saying they couldn't do anything for him. She told us that the best thing would be to have him euthanized. We had him put to sleep, & picked him up in the afternoon. The vet was very compassionate with us, having his body wrapped up & placed into a box. We brought him home for burial.
On Wednesday, we received a very nice & heartwarming condolence card from the vets office. It had a poem in with it as well, as well as the entire staff submitting their signatures on the card. What a great & touching thing for them to do! It really meant a whole lot to us!
