WOULD NOT RECOMMEND!!! 4/14/2011

All this doctor cares about is trying to sell you everything in his office! Im sorry but my dog doesn't need MOUTH WASH!! Dr. Hankes has a very dry and uncaring disposition. He made me and my animal seem like a number or rather a $$$!!! \r I had made appointments in the past and he was unavailable on several dates until after 10am. I thought maybe this was uncommon so I tried just coming in since their office hours are listed as 6:30-6. There was no one but a receptionist and maybe 2 other staff in the building BUT NO DOCTOR! I was told several times he's on his way after the receptionist called him. 1.5 hours later and still NO doctor. All I kept thinking was thank GOD this wasn't an emergency. Oh and to top it off the place smelled terrible.\r \r I WILL NOT GO BACK NOR DO I RECOMMEND! more

WE ARE VERY PLEASED WITH ALL CREATURES PET HOSPITAL 3/28/2011

I have been very pleased with All Creatures Pet Hospital since we moved to town four years ago. They have done a super job taking care of our pets. They really seem to go out of there way to make sure my husband and I as pet owners are well taken care of and treated with courtesy and mutual respect. From reading other reviews I have noticed that some people think they are more expensive. Well I am in the military and have been all over the country with my pets. I have been to many veterinarians and I don't think they are any more expensive. It has been my experience that the really good ones charge a little more. Maybe it is because they realize that. You know the old saying, You get what you pay for. The other thing I have noticed is that there are no real claims that they aren't providing great care for pets. It all seems to be related to being a little more expensive. I am willing to pay a little more for great care. I always ask for an estimate prior to procedures and treatments. I more

Great Pet Care for Your Pet 3/22/2011

My wife and I believe All Creatures Pet Hospital is the best hospital in town. They provide us with great service at a reasonable price. Some people think their prices are a little high. They are all about the same and nationally the cost of pet care has gone up also. It is going up all across the profession. I have noticed, my friends have noticed, and I read on line about the issue. Cost is going up in the veterinary field just like medical care for people. It often feels like cost are high in the veterinary field because many people don't have pet insurance for their pets. When people get sick your insurance pays most of the bill and you don't see the full cost of the care. We may pay a small copay or deductible, but if you are ever hospitalized believe me the insurance companies are paying extremely high fees for your care. Another reviewer (Carmen) on this page stated that they paid $2600 for a a cat to be treated for a blocked bladder and thought that was high. And they said that more

Make sure you ask the right questions 1/21/2011

If you love your pet, would you take it to a vet that was going to do major surgery on it without administering pain medication afterwards? I had been very satisfied with All Creatures Pet Hospital on my fur baby's first visit. They seemed very caring and knowledgeable. Because of that, I decided they should be my "forever vet". When it came time to have my baby spayed, I was quoted a price of $140. It never occurred to me to ask if that included pain medication after the procedure. I just assumed that it did. When my fiance took her into the office this morning, the receptionist told him that she highly recommended paying an extra $31 for a pain shot after the procedure since it was a highly invasive procedure and she would be in considerable pain afterwards. WHAT?!? Why would anyone even think of cutting through skin and muscle and NOT including some form of pain control after the operation? To me that is simply inhumane, and no critter of mine will be left in the hands of a vet that more

Dr. Ted Hankes 8/24/2007

I have used Dr. Hankes for 2 years ever since he bought the practice.e is a very loving, compassionate Dr.He is very knowledgeable and brings a lot of new techniques to veterinaary medicine. His staff of nurses are very kind and informative themselves. His father taught animal sugery @ Auburn university for 35 years, and is used as a consultant for the clinic! What a bonus! more

not so good 7/28/2007

I have used allen animal clinic for the ten years my shih tzu has been alive. I love Dr. Allen. Recently, (april) she had to have major surgery. Dr hankins did the surgery and at the time I praised him. He took very good care of her as well as did Ellen. Now we have moved to Michigan and Tillie has had problems due to the improper tying of her stitches. The tails on the knots he tied were left too long and have started coming thru her skin. She will have to go thru another surgery now to go back in and cut these off. I would precaution everyone whose pet has to have any kind of surgery to discuss this first. Its sad that any animal has to have more than one operation due to this kind of work. more
