crappy electronics store, crappy computer store 8/19/2005

Good for one thing and one thing only, and that's motherboard + CPU deals. But watch out because they usually stick you with some returned broken board. Insist on a board without a sticker. Everything else is at least 10% more expensive than you can buy online. It's an okay place just to go and check out and play with stuff I guess. Try not to buy anything though. Their stock of actual electronic components is okay, bigger than radio shack but more expensive than pretty much anywhere. $1.50 for 5 resistors, yeah right what a deal. more

They have everything you need and more 8/19/2005

Fry's Electronics has every electronic and every component. Huge DVD collection and great selection of Music DVD's. Great selection of video games, and adult DVD's. Great prices on TV's. Pick up any local paper and find the sports section, on the back page you will find fry's deal's of the day. Quite often you will be able to get DVD media free after rebate. There car audio section also offers installation. more

Other Fry's seem to have better deals 8/19/2005

Oh Fry's, how I love thee, let me count the ways! I've been to Fry's all over -- Texas, Washington, Arizona, all over California. Is it me, or did they used to have better deals? Now it seems there products seem to be priced more or less at the same tier as Best Buy or Circuit City -- except they don't exactly have stellar customer service. This particular Fry's is big (like all the rest) but its selection isn't as extensive as other Fry's. They also don't seem to bring in the newest stuff that quickly either, or if they do, it is off the shelf and out of the store very fast. Still, it is always fun to wander around and geek out to all the technogadgets on display. Probably the only place where the deals can be found are with the computer/ electronic components. That is, if you are upgrading your hard drive or building your own computer, you can score some good prices. I've also found some Compact Flash and other media cards at good prices here as well. I wish their ads came out on a normal day, like with the Sunday paper... I rarely bother to actually look at their ad unless I am already in the store. Avoid Fry's at holiday times and on the weekends if at all possible and especially if you need assistance or help. It is already near impossible to find anyone to help you there! And if you are female, prepare to be ignored... very ignored. more

Supermarket of electronics 8/15/2005

They sell everything from resistors and capacitors to consumer electronics. The prices there are pretty good and I seem to recall they have a lowest prices guarantee, but that does not apply to online prices as you can usually find things cheaper online. That said, it's still good to go there to check out what you want to buy and if you don't want to bother looking for a better deal online, you can just buy it from them. Also, they have a 30 days exchange policy that is really good if you didn't like what you bought. For some products like laptops and cameras, it's only 15 days though, so you need to read the fine print. This place beats any department details you may normally buy your electronics from. more

Excellent Store! 7/25/2005

Fry's is a one stop shop for electronics. They have everything, from computers to games offered at pretty low prices but it's pretty hard to receive service because they're always so packed more

It an okay store 6/20/2005

I don't like Fry, never have, because Fry's Electronics always sell me open stuffs. They shrink wrapped their return item and label as unopen. Their r eturncheck system is uneffective because i brought a brand new unopen wireless router. When i got home, after open the shrink wrapp, i find that the item have been open. But at least it work. more

Stay away 6/19/2005

I brought a DVD Burner. When I got home in the package there was no software or documentation included making it impossible to burn DVD without proper drivers. So then I went back to Fry for an exchange, they refuse to give me an exchange because there was not manual or CD. I ended up downloading the driver and software online. What a rip off!!! more

What a Huge store 6/19/2005

The closest Fry's Electronics from my house is at least a good 45 minutes drive away. This Fry is great. They have the best selection of electronic all around since I live in a middle of no where. I brought a few item from this fry and it not bad as other people said it is. Their display is beautiful. This store's theme is aquarium. more

Fry's Electronics 6/16/2005

Fry's Electronics is an amazing electronic store. They have everything imaginable. The store is bigger than swapmeet and you can always find deals from the newspaper. They have a good selection, decent pricing, and liberal return policy. more
