As a hearing impaired mom, who loves to shop for my children, I was appalled when I went to Ali Cat Toys in Carr Mill Mall. I am accustomed to ignorant people not realizing that yes, deaf people are normal too, when I go to a low end retail store. Not only was I treated as if I had a low IQ, but the salesman was obviously not trained to greet and help people that communicate in other languages. I thought that a self-proclaimed "progressive" children's store would at least recognize people like us as human beings. I shudder to think how the owner ignores this issue, or how people that communicate in other languages feel when going to her store, especially considering her products are at least 300% marked up from any other quality toy store's prices.
