Best Vet Ever! I wish i could give him 10 stars! 4/5/2012

I have had pets my whole life, and Dr. Good is by far the best vet I have ever met. When I first moved to SLC, I didn't know where to take my dog. I ended up taking him to a vet that was open on a sunday when my dog had fallen ill. This other vet clinic made me wait so long, not in the waiting room but in the exam room, they charged an atrocious amount of money for the simplest of procedures. After a bill of OVER $700 for treatment of gastroenteritis and dehydration and a quote of $700 for a simple teeth cleaning procedure, I decided to look elsewhere. A friend had recommended Dr. Good at Alcor Cresta. Immediately I noticed a difference. Dr. Good was prompt in coming into the exam room, he was on the floor cooing and petting my dog. He even asked if my dog had any nicknames, so he would feel more comfortable. The dental cleaning was only $150! Dr. Good even recommended a way to keep my dogs teeth clean so i would never have to take him in for a cleaning again. Today my dog went in for a possible infection in his urethra, and Dr. Good took tests and found it was nothing, i was only charged for the office visit, not for the tests. I know if it was the other vet, I would have been charged probably double. It is clear to me that Dr. Good is in it for the animals, not the money, as most vets these days seem to be. He puts the welfare of the animals first. I wish there were more stars, I would give him a 10! more

Thank Dog for Dr. Good! 10/21/2011

I first met Dr. Good about 12 years ago when I had a feisty little dog with a hard-to-diagnose skin condition. My previous vet had tagged her as Vicious and a Bite Threat - with a red-label folder. He wouldn't even get close enough to her to see what the problem was. She has never bitten anyone, by the way - just barked a lot. Anyway, when we finally met Dr. Good, he got down on the ground and talked to her like he wanted to help - there was no more barking, and he was her friend for life. I have taken my pets to him ever since, and will for as long as he will work! His staff is excellent, too - we love Mary's grooming and inter-personal skills. more

Dr. Good and his staff are the best! 2/7/2011

My dog LOVES going to see Dr. Good and his staff. Dr. Good has an instant connection with animals and you can tell he really cares for animals and is there to do whatever it takes to make sure your pet is well taken care of. Also, the staff is always friendly and knows my dog by name. I have always been impressed with the groomers, Mary does such a great job and is very reasonable on pricing. Thanks Alcor Cresta for always making my dog and myself feel welcome! more

Best vet in the south valley 12/1/2010

We have been going to Dr. Good for more than Five years and we couldn't be more impressed with he and his staff. They always treat my dogs like family and he has the most reasonable prices in town. I highly recommend Alcor Cresta. more

Up front, caring and very honest! 9/12/2010

We were told by our former vet our 8 year old dog would need a $2500 surgery to repair a torn ACL on one of his back legs, we decided to take him to Dr. Good for a second opinion and we are so happy we did! Our previous vet made it sound like we had no other options other than surgery, they also did not go over the cons to having surgery. When we took our dog to Dr. Good he advised us the tear wasn't as bad as the previous vet made it sound and it was very possible it could heal with time, he also made us aware of the cons of having surgery (the quality of life could actually go down due to all the rehabilitation that would be needed). Dr. Good suggested we first try keeping him off his back legs for a while and giving him joint supplement, after two months our dog was using his back legs again with no signs of pain and no expensive surgery! We now take both our cat and our dog to Dr. Good, his prices are very reasonable and he is always very up front with what treatment options we have should our pets become ill. Also, we tried switching to a different brand of heartworm medication with our dog, unfortunately, he had a bad reaction to it. When we asked if we could switch back to the former brand they allowed us to give our new medication back and just pay the difference for the more expensive brand. I can't speak highly enough of Alcor Cresta, we are life customers. more

Dr. Good is Amazing....just ask my Dogs. 7/21/2010

I have taken my dogs to Dr. Good for 3 years now. I have been to him for multiple problems, and he has resolved them every single time. I have utilized his services for physicals, labs, illnesses, and also for the kenneling. Dr. Good always has playtime with the dogs. He gets down on the ground, despite my unexplainably hyper dog!\r I had originally taken one of my dogs to another vet who said my dog needed surgery and it would cost me approximately $1500. Dr. Good did not feel she needed surgery and saved me $1500. \r His staff are all friendly, and their prices are ridiculously reasonable!\r I will go to this vet for LIFE! Pros: personable, price is great, always remember me Cons: parking lot is small more

Best vet I have ever known 7/10/2010

My family was fortunate enough to find Dr. Good, immediately after our last rescue. I have 3 dogs and I feel like I see him more than some of my good friends. Not only are his fees reasonable (I feel guilty sometimes because I know he can't be making money) but, he truly loves animals. Some people are born to do something and he is doing what he was born to do. He has a 6th sense about animals and every single time my dogs have been sick he has been able to pinpoint why. All without running a battery of expensive tests. You can rest assured that he will never recommend something that is not needed. I can not say enough good about him because most people would not believe the praise I know he deserves. Honestly, I wish I could see him as my personal doctor. You just have to meet him and his wonderful staff to see for yourself you will be happy you did. Pros: everything from his knowledge, kindness and wonderful staff more

Femur Repair-Best Vet! 7/1/2010

We took ""Bart"" to Alcor Cresta to see Dr. Good after having a bad experience at another vet. Bart was hit by a car, fracturing his femur, the other vet tried to repair it, and it failed. Dr. Good had seen Bart growing up and we always thought he was a great doctor. So we took Bart to him for a second opinion on his femur. Dr. Good brought in an orthopedic specialist, and the two of them performed surgery on him again, placing more hardware to stabilize his leg, and doing a bone graft. After all of this, they are now boarding Bart for three weeks to give him the best chance at a full recovery. They are doing all of this at a very reasonable price. I've never been to a better vet. Dr. Good returns calls, explains things very well, and his staff is very responsive. Nothing but five stars for Dr. Good and his staff. Easily the most generous and kind doctor in the Salt Lake Valley. Pros: Excellent service, great communication. Cons: I don't see any drawbacks. more

Absolutely the Best Vet in the Valley 3/23/2010

Dr. Good has been our vet for years now. The first time I took one of our dogs to another vet for a change I was lucky enough to meet Dr. Dan Good. I went right home and told my husband that we indeed found our new vet. Years later we still agree whole heartedly that he is absolutely the BEST! Pros: All pros Cons: No cons more

Dr Good is the BEST vet! 2/26/2010

Last summer our 15 year old cat became ill. Being new to town we went to Dr. Good on the referral of our doggy daycare. Within seconds of calling to make the appointment we knew we had the right vet. We grew to know Dr. Good and his staff very well over the 3 weeks we spent trying to save our cat. Dr. Good even allowed us to bring the cat home to see if settling in to his old routine would assist in his recovery. When it became apparent that we needed to put the cat to sleep Dr. Good was amazing. His compassion and care during that time will always be remembered. We continue to take our dog, and now new puppy, to Dr. Good. His compassion and skills are greatly appreciated and we are thankful that we were referred to Alcor Cresta and Dr. Good! Pros: Knowledge, cleanliness, value more

Dr. Good runs a very tight ship 10/9/2009

Misunderstandings about appointment times are not taken lightly. Reconfirm your appointment time before you arrive for your appointment. Pros: He definitely stays on schedule more

Wow....saved us 800 bucks!!! 5/24/2009

We went to another vet before this one becaure our dog had gastroenteritis. They wanted to charge us 700-1300 dollars. This vet charged 40 dollars and the dog was better within a day.\r \r Pros: Honest and knowledgeable! more

Best Vet in SLC 1/31/2009

Dr. Dan Good is the best vet in SLC. The first time he met my cats he sat on the floor with them so they could get used to him. Since that first appt he treats my animals with the same kindness and caring. On top of being knowledgeable, he is always on time with appointments and his hospital is always clean and odor free.\r \r I've never had a problem finding a parking place. The location is within minutes of my home. It was somewhat hard to find but Dr. Good has put up additional signage. Just look for the blue and white signs. His prices are comparable to other vets in the area, but the value you receive is second to none. Additionally, his office staff is friendly and knowledgeable and you get a discount for paying in cash! I have found that all my pet-owner friends in the area also bring their animals to Dr Good.\r \r Your pets deserve the best care, they deserve Dr. Good. Pros: Easy 215 freeway access, clean, odor free, knowledgeable doctor and staff, great hours more

Alcor Cresta and Dr. Good are incredible! 1/22/2009

I was referred to Dr. Good over a year ago and after my first visit to his office, I knew I would be a lifetime client! Dr. Good is an amazing man who truly loves animals. He will actually get down on the floor to play and interact with my dog. He's alwasy sure to get a little social time in with the animal before and after the exam. His office is clean and the front staff is very helpful and caring. His prices are ridiculously reasonable...you almost feel bad not paying more! Dr. Good is a wonderful vet! My human kids love coming to visit as much as my fur baby since they all know that if they are good, they will get a treat at the end of the visit (biscuit for the pup and suckers for the kids!) We love Alcor Cresta!!! Pros: service, hours, helpful, great prices, wonderful staff Cons: absolutely NOTHING at all more

Dr. Good is so awesome I wish he could be my doctor. 1/14/2009

Alcor Cresta is a wonderful animal hospital. Doctor Good is very dedicated to the animals that he takes care of. We have been taking our pets to him for over seven years. He and his staff are thorough, sensitive, caring and fun. Dr. Good works long hours to insure the animals get the best care. You'll love taking your pet to Alcor Cresta!! Pros: clean, convenient hours, loving to my pets Cons: NOTHING more

The best vet anywhere! 9/29/2008

I absolutely love Dr. Good and Alcor Cresta! Dr. Good is so caring and comitted to providing the best possible care to his patients. You can tell how passionate his is about his field, and that he's definitely not just in it for the money. He truely loves the animals he cares for and often goes above and beyond the duties of your average vet. I first started taking my cats to Dr. Good when he was at a different office simply because it was right down the street from my (then) house. How fortunate I was to stumble upon him! It's been at least 7 years since I began going to him and in that time I have moved from Salt Lake to Kaysville and Dr. Good has started his own practice in Midvale. To this day, I will drive clear from Kaysville to Midvale with a whining cat in the car. He's that good! My cat has terrible reactions to immunizations and where other vets would pressure me into trying some new vaccine, Dr. Good understands that his life is not worth the risk. And no matter how long it's been since I've taken my kitty in, he always remembers both of us. I would never trust my cat's care to anyone but Dr. Good! Pros: Caring staff, great care, never recommends anything that isn't really needed Cons: drive to Midvale (for me) more

Best Vet in the State 9/18/2008

Dr. Good is hands down the best vet in the state. He truly loves his animals he treats. He is very easy to talk to, very thorough & super nice. We have been with him for over 9 years & will continue to have him as our vet for every animal we get. He is a pug expert & we highly reccomend him. His staff is excellent as well & they are very polite & helpful. He is very concerned about our girls & our lil boy when he was with us. He past in 2006 & he did everything possible to save him & took it hard when he past. He is not just our vet but part of our family. There is excellent boarding & Grooming services as well. If you are ever to trust your lil one, Dr. Good & his staff are the ones to trust. My parents even drive in from Tooele for his services. He is such an awesome guy, knows his occupation inside & out. I wouldn't trust my kids with anyone else, EVER!\r We all love Dr. Good! Pros: Excellent Vet & Office staff. Friendly, great value & very personable. Easy to get into. more

Wonderful Vet, and office staff 9/15/2008

I just got a new puppy in July, and as you know with new puppies they require several visits to get all of their shots. Dr. Good and his staff are wonderful. They are all very sweet to both my puppy, and me. You can tell that Dr. Good really loves animals. He always makes sure to get a kiss from my puppy before we leave. His prices are amazing, and won't break the bank. I will continue to take my dog to see him. Pros: Everything Cons: Parking can be difficult more

Never will go elsewhere 6/6/2008

My family and I love Dr. Good. My parents drive over an hour each way to take their pets into see him and although I don't live with them anymore- I continue to bring my pets to him.\r \r When our family dog started acting funny- we took him into the vet. They did an Xray and he noticed some things that were unusual. He contacted a radiologist (they were out at a conference) on his own time and we found out that our dog had a fast moving bone cancer. We put him down within a week from the diagnoses (went downhill that fast). The vet went out to the truck when we brought in our dog and climbed into the truck and held our dog as he put him down. instead of having us move the dog into the clinic. \r \r My fiance discovered he was allergic to cats when he moved in and they helped me find new homes for them. They are active on petfinder and treat the animals fantastic. My puppy is currently a patient of his and we've had to come in to see him many many times due to an accident she was in.He came out to the car in the rain to say goodbye to our puppy when we left last time. \r \r His prices are unbelievably great. I will never take my pets to see another vet while he is in practice. My parents are willing to drive over an hour to visit him and if I need too- I will too. Pros: amazing vet, amazing staff, amazing prices, LOVES animals, easy to talk too. Cons: Parking in front. There is more parking in the back but its not well advertised more

Finally a vet that really cares! 6/5/2008

Don't be fooled by the fact that he doesn't have a large & fancy facility. After spending many years at another pet center, we are sooo happy to find someone who cares about our dogs as much as we do. Our dogs love Dr. Good! His prices are more than reasonable, his facilities very clean, & he has awesome energy! We drive right by several other pet centers just to bring our dogs here. \r Thank you so much for your kind heart. Pros: Clean, caring, honest, & great prices. Cons: At times parking can be a challenge, but my dogs deserve this vet. more
