Not recommended! Took over 5 weeks to get my glasses. Came in over Christmas break to get my eyes checked and get new glasses. I usually go to Snowy Range Vision Center, but they had a 4 week wait. I guess I should have been suspicious at that point, but I wanted to get in quickly and VSP (my insurance) recommended them\r \r The doctor seemed ok and I had no problems picking new glasses. The problems started when I wanted a quote before ordering my glasses. The insurance person was gone that day on vacation, but the manager said she would have a quote for me within a couple of days. After waiting over two weeks for them to call me with the quote, I finally called them to find out what was going on. \r \r I can't believe that the insurance specialist blamed me for not calling them earlier and said that it was my own fault that I didn't get my quote earlier, and she wasn't to blame. Wow, really? I won't be back. My advice is go anywhere else. Grossly incompetent staff. more

Dr. King is the Best 11/3/2011

I have been seeing Dr. King for 30 years. He has always be professional & friendly. I am extremely near sighted & a couple of years ago I was having some problems. He watched my vision very closely & discovered that a blood vessel was leaking. He sent me to the eye specialist in Cheyenne the next morning. Saved the vision in my right eye!!! more

I'm still amazed at how bad they are 2/10/2010

I'm not sure where to begin. They seemed great at first and we (my husband and I) wanted to pay for a ""real"" optometrist to get our new glasses. We waited three weeks for our glasses. When they came in, the distortion was so bad, I was dizzy. They told me that I just needed to get used to the new glasses, even though I've never had trouble with that before. When I asked how long it would take, they said ""a couple months."" Like an idiot, I believed them and went back to work. I couldn't even drive with the glasses and as the day went on, the pain from the distortion got worse and worse. I went back later that day and discovered they used the wrong lenses. So the glasses had to be sent back to be re-made. I was told they'd call when the glasses came in. After a week, I called and they snottily said I had to be patient. After two weeks, same thing. On the third week, I called and they told me my glasses had been sitting there waiting and gee, why didn't I pick them up? When I got those glasses, I still had distortion. They told me the same thing, and like an idiot again, I believed them. I had to return the next day because my eyes and head hurt so bad from the distortion. I asked them if they really measured pupil distance and the receptionists rolled their eyes, then called the doctor. He measured and sure enough, they had the wrong pupil distance! This is something even a student should know! So once again I waited a few weeks for the glasses to come in. By that time, they worked well enough that I could see, though the glasses were still a bit weird. Two weeks later, the lenses fell out of my glasses. Upon closer inspection, I discovered the lenses had been ground improperly on the edges, causing the tension wire to be cut apart. When we took them back, the receptionist said it would take a month to fix and we'd be charged for it because I had clearly misused the glasses. By that point, it had been months since the initial exam and I was sick of it. My husband asked about a refund and the receptionist (and her co-receptionist) went nuts and started screaming about how we just came in there to start a fight. We insisted on a refund and they made a huge deal about how we just wanted to harass them. Eventually, we got a partial refund and our insurance reversed the charges, some of which had been duplicated. I then went to our local Walmart just to get some cheap glasses until we could find a new optometrist and discovered on top of it all, Albany Eye Care got my prescription wrong this whole time. Cons: Everything? more
