As with the previous reviews, Mr. Cohen does not return your phone calls. He also does not research or review your case until right before the trial. He also does not follow through with the initial plan that was discussed moments before the trial and when I hired him at the begining. \r \r He forgot several things which I had specifically requested in my case while in trial. \r \r I hired him for an uncontested divorce in 2010. My case is still not over, I have no childern or property with my ex. My ex filed a contested divorce. Mr. Cohen stated that he would make sure that my ex is responsible for the additional attorney fees, since I did not file a contested case. In the initial judgement I was not awarded attorney fees from my ex. \r \r He refuses to send me an itemized statement. \r \r I had police reports to back up my information and he refused to order them. \r \r I did all the research on my case, but Mr. Cohen stated to the Judge that he is charging me a large amount of money for researching the case. \r \r He also charged me (per court record) for rescheduling my case when my ex's attorney was the one rescheduling the case. I told him several times I did not want the case continued anylonger and he kept agreeing to continue it. \r \r Simply put, you should find someone else that will want to work for you and follow through with want was agreed upon during the process. more

As the other reviewer pointed out, Mr. Cohen does not follow the agreed upon plan during the proceedings. He took the liberty to dismiss an action we had previously filed without discussing it with his client (my husband). He does not review any evidence you submit to him until just before trial, and then you have to provide to him again months later because he ""doesn't have that"". His pleadings are riddled with inaccuracies and I myself have had to research the case law in Missouri to make our case. Cohen's response....the law is not the law and that's just the way it is. And we ""know just enough to make us dangerous."" Really? Dangerous to whom? To those incompetant attorneys that do not want to adequately perfom their job? We have worked with Mr. Cohen for years, fearing that cost of retaining another attorney to get them up to speed on the details of our very complicated case would not be in our financial interest. We were wrong, because now after he has depleted us financially and done nothing, the fight is still not over. I would warn anyone who is thinking of retaining Mr. Cohen to reconsider and make a better choice. Incompetance and laziness will abound in your dealings with this attorney. more

Alan was my divorce lawyer and I am very disapointed by his services because he was not returning my calls for days. Didn't follow the agreed plan of action throughout the proceedings. Didn't take time to review all documents submitted and the final documents filed in court had errors and some forms are even missing. I would not recommend him to anybody more
