The Alabama Theater is such an amazing building. When you walk in it feels like you are taking a trip back in time. It is absolutely gorgeous. They have events there all the time....one of my friends actually had his high school graduation there and I thought that was an amazing place to have it at. more

A beautiful place. 12/3/2005

Located next to the McWane Center, this place is a historic theater that just can't be beat. It has been restored to keep its old and classically beautiful appearance. They do events here, such as the annual Rocky Horror Masquerade Ball, as well as the annual Sidewalk Film Festival. They also show movies here from time to time. Even if you don't enjoy going to theaters, everyone should see this place just for its historic value. more

Historic place that still has relevance 8/13/2005

The Alabama Theater is a landmark of Birmingham that has been consistently restored to keep it's old time appeal. While it hosts numerous events including concerts, the theater is known for showing movies. The theater is an enjoyable experience for the whole family. The kids will love the sing-a-long intro to each movie. The owner of the theater plays the old fashion organ as the lyrics to the song play on the screen and as everyone sings along. The movies they show usually are classic movies, but they will occasionally show current movies as well. more
