the airboat tour is the most fun thing in the everglades. it goes really fast so it feels great on a hot humid day to actually get some wind in your hair. only problem is do not ever stick your hands out i was stupid enough to pet some sawgrass when the guy reved up again and it leaves angry cuts that heal into welts! but other than obeying what the guy tells you its all very safe. they have a great programme that they take you to where the gators are and throw in some history about the everglades. all in all a great presentation. more

A must for anyone living in/visiting South Florida 8/20/2005

I went on an everglades tour years ago and absolutely loved it. On ours, we sailed through the everglades until we got to this island where they have alligator wrestling, souvenirs and more. While going to and from the island, they make stops here and there to point out wildlife and to get you close encounters with gators, snakes, etc. You're almost guaranteed to see something wild on the airboat just because it is so common. If you've lived in S. Florida for years of if you're visiting, this is something you must do! more

Everglade Air Boat Tours 8/4/2005

Gliding through the Everglades in an airboat must be similar to the African savannah in a jeep, at least that's what I imagined as we cruised at high speeds for half an hour. This is a South Florida must-do for any local or tourist. We saw a couple of aligators, but this experience is not defined by gator sightings. At one point, our guide stopped the boat and got out in his bare feet to prove how safe he thought the Glades were. He then encouraged us to do the same, which we did. Do it. Go stand barefoot in the Everglades! more
