Affordable Handyman

My husband has been ill therefore he has not been able to take care of the home repairs we needed done. As time went on, more and more things needed fixed. I had a whole honey do list. I called Affordable Handyman to come out to give us an estimate. Not only did they take care of everything, after meeting with the workman and seeing his work, his picture book, and talking to the office people, I had my bathroom remodeled. I love it. The tile work I wanted on my walls and floor were a difficult pattern. It came out BETTER than I invisioned. I make everyone who comes in my house look at it. I will call them from now on and will tell anyone who will listen what a wonderful experience I had. The owner even came out to take pictures to use in their next show. more

OK, so I had Affordable Handyman LLC out to do my basement, like I said before, and they are now dine, after 2 weeks. It took a little longer than I thought, but they did everything I asked them to do and did it very well!!! The only mishap was when I wasn't there and they couldn't get in to do some work. I can't say whose fault it was but the fact that they got the work done how I wanted it done, I can't complain. Thank You for wonderful work!!! I'm trying to think of more work that needs done so they can do it!!!! Pros: work done is GREAT!!!! more

They came out to redo the frame on my back door because it had rotted away and was letting cold air in. I wasn't too thrilled that the door needed to stay open for as long as it did, but they got the work done and it's so much better than it was. I had the pleasure of having Bob do the work, he's funny and a great guy! I hope this new year brings nothing but good fortune to him and Afordable Handyman. Thanks Dinah, for sending someone who is as honest and hard working as you are! Pros: Craftsmen are personable and polite! Cons: no cons really other than it is winter and the door NEEDED to be open to do the repairs. more

This was the worst remodel I've ever experienced, the partial list of what whent wrong with my new bathroom includes: busted hallway walls, broken corner on the whirlpool tub, broken faucet, leaking plumbing, cracks in the joints between the tub and the walls, broken threshhold and trashed door casing. Do I need to mention a hole in the ceiling and a separate call to the company to fix my attic fan because ""someone"" who was connecting the whirlpool to the electric circuit in the attic didn't know what he was doing? On top of that, when the crew finally left 4 weeks later (the job was supposed to take 4 days) they left the old door casing in the garage nails up and didn't bother to let me know. As a result when my husband came home after 12 -hour shift, he drove right over the nails. The owner of the company who is very good in returning calls when you owe her money and not so good in following up when she got paid promissed to reimburse us for the tire. Unfortunately, after no payment was received as was promised and couple of unreturned calls, she informed me that the tire puncture was my husband's fault.\r In conclusion I'd like to warn potential customers about the service you get from Affordable Handyman and Dinah Willis - if something goes wrong, you are on your own. Please be careful and choose a reputable contractor to work at your house. Cons: poor quality, poor service more

It is wonderful that there are positive reviews entered on behalf of the company. The November review below was and is true. \r No other customer associated with Affordable Handyman has visited our home, so statements referring to the conditions within (and of the agreement we entered with the company) are bias. Only friends, family, neighbors, one other contractor, and Affordable Handyman's employees have entered the house. Attempts to discredit our review can only be filtered through a representative of Affordable Handyman. Just wanted to let people know that I used Affordable Handyman LLC for another home repair, replacing my garden tub with a whirlpool tub, and they did a great job! They saved me money too! They passed on their discount to me from a tile place, which saved me $500, and also gave me their discount for paint, which saved me another $100. I am still happy with this company and will use them again. The craftsmen were polite and non-intruding when they were working in the master bathroom and the girls in the office are pleasant! It did take them a minute to return my original phone call, but they are busy and not in the office all the time. Even with that, I am happy with my new tub!!! I have never experienced such wonderful and polite customer service and craftsmen!!!! When I called I wasn't sure if I even wanted the work done, but after having the craftsman out and the follow up call from the office, I had to give them a try. Not only did they do the work, but they gave me a personal guarantee that if the steps I had replaced became warped I could call them back and they would fix it at no charge. Affordable Handyman (of Hilliard, Ohio) refuse honored the agreement we have with them.\r \r They agreed to: \r install hardwood floors, \r install ceramic tiles on floors and walls, \r install cabinets\r joint compound drywall\r build short wall for kitchen island\r build wall partition for bath and closets\r install showers, tubs, toilet, vanities, 6-paneled doors.\r Paint walls and ceiling \r Reroute electrical wiring and insert lights\r Shift duct work and reroute plumbing as needed\r \r Affordable Handyman started work shortly after the 4th of July and was suppose to complete the work in 5-7 weeks. With a couple understandable delays they should have finished the work in 7-9 weeks, max. Now 18 weeks later, they?ve only completed around 50%, but have received 99% of their fees from my wife and I.\r \r They have admitted they can not finish the rest of the work in a timely manner and recommend us to find someone who can. \r \r Here?s the Kickers though. They refuse to refund us for the work they have not finished. Their only response is that they did other work that was not in the contract. We feel it was apart of the agreement, and we went over extensively that requirement during the walk-through/itemize phase. Besides this issue they still refuse to refund us for the remaining 50% of the work not complete, so we can hire another company to finish it.\r \r Affordable Handyman refused to even give us an approximate amount they are willing to refund.\r \r They are not operating fairly, persistently delayed work and not provide adequate staffing to ensure a timely completion of the work agreed to.\r \r They are not very apologetic, but combative in their response to our complaint.\r \r They just provide excuses and not willing to take action to satisfy their customers.\r \r Customers should steer clear of Affordable Handyman of Hilliard Ohio.\r \r Pros: nothing at all Cons: poor customer servie, job not finished, refuse to refund money more
