Visiting the dentist has always been a traumatic experience for me. The anticipation of pain would make my heart pound. So when a cracked molar Ms. Yvonne (my Hygienist – she’s great with a light touch) had been warning me about for years finally broke the anxiety started. In hind sight my worries were unfounded. Dr. Reeves removed the damaged tooth and replaced it with a crown. I literally didn’t feel any pain throughout the entire procedure, including the Novocain shots. Dr. Reeves skills as a dentist are unmatched and only exceeded by his ability to put the patient at ease. He continually explained the various steps in the procedure and the sensation I would experience which I found to be very reassuring and disarming. This is a very unique dental practice where the focus is on the patient and the talent is best-in-class from the hygienists (thanks Ms. Yvonne), to the dental assistants (thanks Ms. Sarah), to the dentists (thanks Dr. Ryan Reeves). The US Navy provided my dental care for 28 years and after I retired in 2009, I simply went to the same Dentist that my co-workers used. I thought it was good care (and it was) until my wife convinced me to go to Aesthetic Dentistry of Lorton where she and the kids get their dental care. What a difference! I was blown away with how modern the facility was and the techniques they used. Dr. Ryan Reeves is a superb dentist and after a complete exam explained that it was probably a good idea to get my old amalgam fillings (made of powdered mercury and silver) removed as they were old and cracking. This was not something I was crazy about, but insurance paid half and I kid you not, it was effortless. The equipment they used made the procedure the most comfortable thing I ever experienced at a dentist office. The best part is I have those ugly, unhealthy fillings out of my mouth and the composite fillings Dr Reeves uses makes it look like I have never had a cavity in my life. Ryan Reeves is my Dentist and I can't believe he was rude to anyone (previous review). I see that the reviewer didn't leave a name.
