Wonderful, authentic Greek 4/5/2009

Dined with my wife and mother to celebrate my wife's birthday. For apps, had the Greek salad, grilled shrimp and scallops. For entrees had the whole Lup de Mer, whole snapper and lamb chops. Also had a Sterling Sauv Blanc that was reasonably priced. All dishes were excellent. The staff was knowledgeable, courteous and checked in on us regularly without being intrusive. For those who may be deterred by this out of the way location, it is absolutely worth the trip. While you may get exceptional service at many of Manhattan's finer restaurants, it's a rarity to have the combination of excellent food, service and a sincere, warm, family-friendly atmosphere. I must have gotten 3 handshakes from various members of the staff / management on our way out. Truly amazing dining experience and I can't wait to go back. Pros: Food, service, atmosphere more

I dined in greece last night!!!!!! 2/7/2009

My girlfriend and i went last night for dinner she is from greece, and very selective about were we go for greek food when we first arived we waited about 10 min for our table and it was worth the short wait. we were seated by the fireplace and were treated like royalty from the staff i have dined at many greek restaurants in astoria but nothing like this we were told they have 23 appertisers to choose from we ordered the traditional greek salad and the infusion of olive oil and spices and vinegar created a dressing that was wonderful the best feta i have ever tasted, olives and tomato it was unreal next we had the main course i had lamb chops with lemon potatoes and my girlfriend had the whole fish Tsipoura i can only describe it as wonderful the staff kept checking to see if everything was ok with us they went from tatble to table checking on there guests and i felt like i mattered we ordered coffee and greek dessert loukoumades they are deep fried pastry with a honey syrup and complimentary greek yoguart with cherries and walnut and honey i could not belive that the chef himself came out to ask us how everything was and thanked us for coming the staff was exceptional 5 star all the way as we were leaving i actually said to to one of the owners thanks for having us we will be back as i wiped the tear of joy from my eye wonderful experience!!!!! Pros: good atmosphere Cons: make a reservation more

A MUST GO TO 2/6/2009

Love it! it doesn't get much better than this, its new, its very classy and the fireplace has great charm. The service is 6 star and the food perfect. The outdoor spot upstairs for the better weather is wonderful as if you are on the Greek Isles. I live in Manhattan but this is one of our favorite places and its worth the trip over the bridge. There are not too many Greek restaurants in Manhattan as good as this, I can only think of one other. Try this place on a Thursday night also when they have live Greek music. Pros: Its authentic greek at its best Cons: not in Manhattan more

A Hidden Gem! 12/4/2008

Aegean Cove has to have been one of the best dining experiences of my life. Not only does it have amazing food, but the ambience is great as well. The owners are really friendly and the waitstaff attentive. What I really appreciate is a wine menu that goes beyond Italy and France and has a nice selection of Greek wine to accompany their food. I highly recommend the grilled octopus and the whole, grilled fish. They have to be, bar none, the best! What's even better is that the prices are quite fair for seated fine dining and the size of the meal is proportionate. I would come back and would highly recommend this restaurant! Pros: ample parking, romantic, good prices for quality dishes, friendly & attentive management Cons: a little from the busy sections more
