Advocates For Women's Health, A Part Of Norton Women's Care

I have been a patient of Dr. Graves for 7 years. After reading through some of the reviews I feel like I must say that I love being a patient at Advocates. I have delivered 2 children and am currently pregnant with my 3rd. I enjoy going to this office for many reasons... friendly staff, caring Drs and it is an all women practice which makes me very comfortable. In my 7 years with Dr Graves I have only had 2 or 3 appointments where I didn't see her and had to see another Dr (only because she was out on delivery). I have met with each Dr in the practice (at some point in time over the years) and feel like each one is very caring and knowledgable. I have watched this practice grow and would like to congratulate the Drs, nurses and office staff on their hard work. From time to time we all have things going on in our lives that cause change and I feel that a Drs office is no different; sometimes we all have to be understanding and realize that life happens. more

This place is a disaster!! I was going to be a little late for my appointment so I called to tell them and THEY MADE ME RESCHEDULE!!!! I just drove all the way from Fairdale and got to the Taylorsville Road Exit!!! that's a Quarter of a tank of gas!! I am so angry at this office I could scream! The office staff is INCOMPETENT!!! If they wouldn't have ""worked in"" so many people then my appt would have been fine! Cons: smart elic doctor and very rude office staff more

I had my second child with Dr. Leigh Walsh. She was recommended to me by my family doctor. I was very leery of OB/Gyn's because my first delivery was a NIGHTMARE! She sat down with me in her office and we discussed everything. She was always so pleasant and friendly. Dr. Walsh truly listened to my desires for my birth as well as my concerns. AT the time of delivery, I was in the labor room for 23 hours. I had wanted a natural birth (no epidural and no time limits). She let me do my thing. After 21 hours she asked me what I wanted her to do. I requested that my membranes be ruptured. She made me feel like I was in control of my birth experience and it was WONDERFUL! With the high rate of unnecessary C-sections, I felt that I was very lucky to have Dr. Walsh as my doctor. She took excelent care of me and truly made me feel like an individual instead of just another prego ready to pop. I would recommend her to anyone! Also, the office is very well run. I only had to wait for one appointment (Thanksgiving week). If I showed up 10 minutes early, they would call me back early. Also, the nurses there are very friendly and helpful. As early as 36 weeks Dr. Graves claimed to be checking to see if I was dilated and then proceeded to strip my membranes (which induces labor). No doctor should EVER try to induce labor in their patient without their consent, but because it was my first child, I didn't wise up until after the third time she had done it. Apparently this is what lazy, impatient doctors do when they think you won't deliver in a timely enough manner. I had to switch doctors at 39 weeks! The doctors are great. Especially, Dr. Graves. They're friendly, considerate, knowlegable and helpful. They're also very honest. Not in a judgmental way, but in a I think you should know all the options way. The office staff leaves alot to be desired. Some of them are fine, even good, but whoever does the sceduling is not. I've has 4 out of 5 of my last appointments rescheduled. I've booked them months in advance, then they call you or send some old, difficult to read because they're too lazy to retype it's and it's been copied 500 times letter, and tell you they made a mistake and they need to reschedule. How's 3 months from now? Oh, and when you show up for your rescheduled appointment, they tell you it's the wrong day. So, despite that you have a message on your answering machine stating the day you showed up, you're still wrong. And they sure aren't nice about it. Apparenlty, they've never heard of southern charm, or civility for that matter. They're also more intrested in discussing their plans for the weekend, than actually helping the patients who are standing there. If you can tolerate the high and mighty, but incompetent office staff, it's a good office. After all, good doctors are hard to find. Pros: Wonderful Doctors Cons: Incompetent, rude staff more

Dr. Stokes delivered my son and is going to deliver my daughter any day now. I love this practice because you see one doctor through out your pregnancy. I have had friends who have never even seen the doctor who show up at delivery! I highly recommend this practice! Pros: short wait time, caring more
