Advanced Watershapes

We look for at about 3 different builders before we decided to go with advanced watershapes.\r That was my bad decision. False advertisement , stay away from them (John Welzel owner of advanced watershapes, he always speaks well of the company, that's the reason so the reviews is not lower) \r They promised a smooth construction process to be done in 8 weeks, signed for 12 weeks and finished on 26 weeks.\r The pool is not done how the plan say and the Orange County City do not check for nothing, except the electrical work and safety.\r \r The good news is that I do not sign the contract for the screen and I'm looking for another company to do so. Bad, Bad, Bad company. more

Pool Project with Home Construction\r \r We look at about 3 different builders before we decided to go with Advanced Watershapes. I did a lot of research on the local companies around before we did decide to take the ""dive"" into managing both the construction of the home and the pool at the same time. So I was searching around for a good company that I could rest some of my worries on and know they would handle the heavy lifting for me. I found an article about one of the other large companies that was local and I believe they still are local just under a similar name owing a upwards or over a million dollars to the people who give them their materials so they were immediately out of my list of contractors. I did not want to get a lien on my home for lack of payments from the company. So I finally found AWS and had faith they would be able to finish the pool at the same time we got our C.O. on our home. Come to my surprise the pool was actually finished before the home was and the company was professional enough to make sure that the pool was cleaned and stayed running for a month while we finished the house up. I am sure the other contractors probably to a mid day swim to cool of lol but hey, I just wanted to say this is a good company and from everything I have heard they have a few business' which are local in the community and own their own offices. Don't quote me on this but this is what the local gossip is. Well I just wanted to give you a shout out and tell you and your crew at Advanced Watershapes that the pool and spa came out Top Notch. I Love this place, Clermont has been great for us 11 awards for excellance, 9 awards for national competition, published in 2 books for the most beautiful pools in the world, building pools for the UCF orlando dorms, USF dorms in tampa Palisades Country Club , Celebration of Praise Church on 27 Hampton Inn at the airport and hundreds of others with a reputation for perfection and perfect AAA rating at the BBB the fact that anyone can write anything they want and remain out there in the dark spewing venom is just amazing, I pray for all my enemys even those hidden in the dark veil of lies the internet "" whom can prevail against you if god is for you"" John Wetzel more

Advanced Watershapes promised a smooth construction process to be done in approx 10 weeks. Problems began when the steel was not placed in square with the house. The salesman had a subcontractor come out and straighten it prior to the Gunite being poured. It turned out to be 4 inches out of square. The first county inspection failed due to lack of a second steel rod around the top. When the tile was installed I told him we were unhappy with that work and that the tile was installed unevenly and cut ? to 1 inch below the lower riser. He came to the house and agreed with our assessment and decided the tile needed to be replaced. This is when the real problems began. You see, the tile installer was his son and he stated we badgered him when we disapproved of the tile work. When we requested the coping stone be laid according to the design we agreed to at contract signing, and illustrated in the plans, we were told that they laid the stone the way they wanted it. We were told we picked out the stone and if we did not like it we could pay for new stone and they would put it down at an additional cost. I stated we liked the stone but it needed to be broken up and installed in smaller pieces as shown in the design picture. The stone was never changed. At this time the construction slowed down to about 8 hours or so of work a week, when they actually did work. We had several weeks when no work was done at all and other weeks when only a few hours more

The entire deal was good until the paperwork was signed and they had the first draw. The pool took over 12 months to complete. If the sons did any work you had to watch them. The older son was the worst as he threatened my wife, drank beer (leaving the bottles) on the job, and was very unprofessional. Confronting John Weztel was useless as he would do nothing; he had our money... Their are several flaws which they refuse to fix but not worth the arbitration. STAY AWAY FROM THEM!!!!! My yard is in hilly Clermont Florida, it is located on a lot with a huge hill going down from my back porch. So I had a very difficult time coming up with a good looking design to incorporate my yard without having to build a huge retaining wall. All the builders that I had come out to my yard designed nothing but a flat pool with a very large retaining wall. Once I contacted Advanced Watershapes they measured my yard and incorporated my hill with a Vanishing edge that spilled into a basin they made look like a water wall with rocks to get the effect of a water fall. I got what I believe to be the best pool I possibly could have had designed for my yard. They use this 3d program that is just awesome. If you really want to know what your pool will look like in your yard I would definitely give them a visit to see the program they use. They built my pool early in 2008. Me and my Husband have been pleased with the work they provided us. My husband is in construction and checked over everything Advanced Watershapes did. He gave a thumbs up on all the internal parts and materials used (I know nothing about this part). I do on the other hand know that the pool came out absolutly beautiful. We even got it for a great deal! I just wanted to say thanks for all the hard work guys. Pros: Great Work, Top of the line products, Very Friendly, Professional Cons: Construction is dirty, but at least it was not sloppy! more
