We were not happy with Mike or Gene. They provided us with a list of deliverable's that were not met and billed for. When we contacted them about it - they admitted in an email, I have, that these items were not met. As an attempt to correct the situation they offered $5000.00 toward the next phase of work? What? How does that work? Then to make it worse we were contacted by the City of Los Angels that the work that Mike and Gene was not approved. So not only are we out our monies but the city filing and time. Mike and Gene have take to their Lawyers side and are claiming they delivered. If that was true - why would the city reject your work? more

I want to say thank you Mike. Ross and his team.. I had my home completely remolded and it looks amazing. They were neat and courteous and always on time.. If you are looking for a trustworthy contractor Mike Ross is your guy. I have my friend redoing her home now because of how amazing mine came out. more

?Having purchased our first house in Valley Glen, North Hollywood, we were aware it was in need of serious remodeling. A 1950s Ranch-style home, it came complete with peeling wallpaper, musty carpeting, and even some dilapidated walls. As first-time homeowners we were prepared to spend more money to improve it, but weary when we began meeting contractors. Buyer’s remorse already set in when we interviewed several contractors who were either aloof or unscrupulous.\r \r Then we were fortunate enough to find Mike Ross. He immediately allayed our stress with his professional and forthright demeanor and his integrity was as rock solid from the day we met him through the several months it took to complete our large renovation.\r \r While we had some specific things we wanted in our house, Mike and his team took our wish list and far exceeded our expectations to help truly realize the vision of our dream. Originally a three-bedroom, fourteen-hundred square foot home, our remodel brought an addition of a thousand square feet as well as an overhaul of the landscape; this prospect was particularly daunting for uninitiated owners such as us, but Mike’s consummate professionalism shone through and made the task exponentially less stressful for us.\r As well as a new 850 sq.ft Master Bedroom, including a fireplace, and a steam unit in the bath, we added a cozy home theater room, laundry room, and the once forgotten backyard brought a new deck and patio with a trellis. Furthermore, because we went green and made it a smart home, we’re already more energy efficient. In several rooms, as well as the main hallway, for example, Mike installed solar tubes and the amount of natural light that bathes the house is amazing. Even my mom, when she came to visit, was always looking for a light-switch.\r As our contractor, Mike Ross took the reigns to steer the project and keep it on course and he did so exceptionally. Mike and his team were as attentive to the quality of every nook and corner and he always sought our approval and happiness. Consistently communicative, he always kept us in the loop about progress and was always there to answer any questions and concerns. When an unforeseen contingency did arise, Mike assuaged our concerns by taking action ASAP to rectify the problem. Mike’s team, too, all take pleasure in their efforts. Everything about our experience with Addition Building has been excellent. We have worked with them on a number of projects, some complicated, some straightforward. All of their work was outstanding, very high quality. We had them completely demolish and reframe our balcony, seal off a chimney and re-do the drywall, and complete repairs on our roof. We also hired them to replace several windows and sliders, with some involving re-framing. They were really patient about talking us through the process, going over our options, and providing a fair and clear estimate. The quality of their work was first-rate because they have not only the necessary expertise, but also an outstanding attention to detail from beginning to end. They were extremely clean (all contractors say they are, but The Building Company actually is) and they finished their work on time. They were also great about communication--very responsive to calls, always keeping us posted on next steps, etc. Another thing that stood out about this company is that they were always thinking about how they could make things easier for us. We have just spent over a year remodeling our house, so we have worked with a lot of contractors/subcontractors lately and have a good sense of who's good, who's not, and why. We wouldn't hesitate to recommend Addition Building to anyone--they're professional, careful, high-quality, and a pleasure to work with.. more

We recently remodeled our front yard along with the stairs and the garage door and Addition Building & Design Inc did it for us. $ years ago we had used anothe contractor to do redo our back yard and deck and it took them 5 months, when it could have been done in 2 months. Addition Building & design gave us a good price and guaranteed that they would be done within 2 months.\r \r So with no hesitations we hired them and I am so happy we did. They finished everything even earlier than they promised and I am loving our front yard and our modern garage door.\r \r I highly recommend them. We will also going to use them again for our future projects. more

We had a very bad experience with Mike Ross and Addition Building and Design. We also learned the hard way to always ask a contractor to see if you can contact and/or physically see the work done on homes that post 5 star reviews as, after our nightmare of an experience, the several we trusted when choosing Addition Building and Designed, mysteriously vanished after we questioned them. more

It's impossible to say too many good things about Mike's work. ?First of all, I'm a single female looking for someone to do a room addition. ?I had interviewed about 8 other contractors before Mike, and they all gave me the same one page estimate with vague answers to my questions. ?I had no idea what they were agreeing to do or even what they really thought the final cost would be. ?Mike, on the other hand, gave me a detailed proposal which included: an estimated cost of the entire project; a projected weekly work schedule (ex: week 1 & 2 - foundation and framing; week 3 & 4 - rough in electrical,?HVAC?and roofing completed, etc.); he then itemized the payments he needed from me (ex: $8000 to start the work; $8000 when foundation and framing were completed, etc.). ?His workers were efficient, friendly and easy to talk to and they cleaned up the work site every day. ?Mike kept me informed about when the city inspector would be coming and the results of his inspection (it was always good). ?Mike is also polite and easy to work with. ?I never had the feeling he was trying to ""pull a fast one"" or to ""squeeze"" one more dollar out of me, and, in fact, he was always just the opposite. ?I will definitely use Mike again, and would not hesitate to recommend him to anyone. more

We were very fortunate to hire Mike Ross and Addition Building & Design, Inc. for 2 projects in the past 5 years. I have considerable experience working with contractors. Mike Ross is the most honest contractor we have ever worked with, he is extremely knowledgeable and his worker's craftsmanship is top notch! Mike is at the project every day - which is unheard of in this day and age and he is always on time for our meetings. He is always concerned about our budget and worked extremely hard to stay on budget for us in both of our projects. There is absolutely no doubt we would hire Mike and Addition Building & Design, Inc again. You can see how much he cares about completing the project on time and how important it is to him that it looks beautiful in the end. Mike has excellent design ideas and both of our projects were completed ahead of schedule! What we looked for in a contractor when interviewing a number of them for our projects was honesty, knowledge and integrity..... Mike Ross is 5-star in all these areas! We had Mike's crews do extra work for us and we paid for these change orders. However, on many occasions, Mike did extra work for us and did not charge us. We were very pleased how Mike's crew's took pride in tying the new room space to the existing space. Everything looks like it was built at the same time and very aesthetically pleasing to the eye.
