Actor's Gang Theater

Tim Robbins is captain of this ship and is very present and hands on in everything they do there. And it shows. The company is amazing. They offer plays that can be intense, funny, edgy and off the chart wild. Their Robbins-directed "1984" was terrifying. And yet they recently presented Thornton Wilder's American classic, OUR TOWN, a touching and sweet story and I swear there wasn't a dry eye in the house. In the fall they began what will be an on-going festival - the "WTF?!?" Festival. On offer was Jack Black and Kyle Gass in a kick*ss rock out with Tenacious D, Jackson Brown, Jenny Lewis, Ben Gibbard, Gore Vidal, TC Boyle, an evening with Sarah Silverman, films, magic, trapeze artists. I first heard about this theatre from one of my friends and decided to give it a try. First of all, I love the fact that they only serve to a small intimate group of audience because the theatre is pretty small. Second, the performances are absolutely great! You just purchase a ticket and you pick any seat you want (first come first serve) and everything is just great. The actors were wonderful and the props were beautiful. I have been going back there ever since that first visit and continue to recommend this place to all of my friends and family! more

My husband and I went to see the play "Tartuffe" that was playing at the Actor's Gang Theatre in Los Angeles. We paid about $25 each for the tickets and I have to say we both walked out very satisfied. The theater setting is very small but very intimate. The cast did an excellent job. The play was captivating and humorous. Every actor and actress clearly put out great efforts and it shows. Try it out! more
