I work frequently with older adults. Many need help with activities of daily living, especially meal preparation, so I am excited to learn about the Active At Home Helpers for caregivers. The information in the training manual about a healthy diet reflects the latest research, and the fact that it is based on the habits of the long-lived elders of Okinawa is very inspiring. more

I'm thankfull for your efforts 5/12/2011

I cannot really find the words to say how wonderful they were: highly competent, comforting and caring, endlessly patient and reassuring. They became family friends. Carol passed away — thankfully, in peace — clutching in her hand a little soft animal that one of the attendants had given her. It was symbolic of the relationship that had developed. I cannot praise and thank them enough. more

Great supporters 5/12/2011

My wife Carol had a hard two-year struggle with incurable cancer, declining steadily until life was hardly more than a pin-hole. The last year I arranged for a caretaker for weekdays, and had help from my daughters, but in the final month they needed help as well and I was no longer able to handle weekends and nights. We contacted Active At Home Helpers, who provided round-the-clock attendants. more

Happy place to be 5/12/2011

My mom is determined not to move in with one of us or to an ‘old folks home,’ but after her fall last winter my brothers and I knew she just wasn’t safe there by herself. Active At Home Helpers has been great – her caregiver is there every a few hours every day and lets Mom keep her feeling of independence. We feel a lot better knowing the basic household stuff is taken care of and that Mom’s keeping up with her meds. She’s happy – we’re happy – it’s been a win-win for all of us. more

My wife and I couldn’t have been more pleased with our experiences with Active At Home Helpers. It was not an easy decision to trust “outsiders” to take care of my grandfather, but the professionals quickly won him over, and provided top-notch care. We strongly recommend them…what a relief finding someone you can trust! more

Great services 5/12/2011

Last summer my Dad got very sick and we didn’t want to put him in a home… but we couldn’t do it all ourselves (and my mom really needed some “down time”). We called Active At Home Helpers and they came to our house and made everything so effortless and enjoyable (and surprisingly affordable). My Dad just loved the caregiver and she really helped him with his rehab. more
