Professional Actor's Studio is the best in the city! The instructors are all extremely knowledgeable, patient and sensitive to each student. Every student, all ages and at different stages of their career gets specific, honest critiques with the goal of moving their career forward. I have taken workshops at other studios and by far, this one is the absolute BEST! It seems that all of the instructors are equally skilled and sincerely care about each student and their issues. It amazes me how Nick remembers the tiniest detail of each performance of each student. Going to Nick's class is truly the highlight of my week. Would I recommend this acting school to a friend? ABSOLUTELY! more

Editorial review from Citysearch 3/6/2013

The Professional Actor's Studio has been around a long time in Atlanta. There are adult classes for beginners, intermediate and advanced and a teen workshop and an improv class. You can audit a class to see if it's for you. Classes run $99/month which is competitive compared to anywhere else in the city. You work EVERY class. Not all studios are like that. You are taught by industry veterans. Not all studios are like that. \r \r Nick Conti is the owner and a 30 year veteran of the industry. He's a passionate, fiery, emotional guy, and can come off a little brash to an auditor or a new student, but what it really is, is a display of heart, caring, and passion for his students. No one could ever question Nick's caring and heart for his students. \r \r I started with Nick in 2000, in the beginner class, and was there until 2003 in the advanced class before moving to Los Angeles. I have returned to Atlanta and for full disclosure purposes, teaching beginning actors at the studio and proud of it. I hope I bring the same level of passion and commitment to my classes that Nick and all of the other teachers bring to theirs. \r \r I also find the studio to be a professional environment, with a focus on making you a better actor, but more importantly, a performer who auditions better, and understands the nuances of the ever changing business, whether that's doing on-camera auditions, understanding the intricacy of a cold reading audition, or working on prepared scene work. \r \r Try it for yourself. You'll find passionate staff, engaged students, and industry accolades from the last 15 years. more

Good Acting Studio 3/18/2011

This is the first studio that I have attended that has tailored specifically to my acting abilities as an adult. You are able to audit a class for free to give you an idea of what to expect which is a really nice feature. My first phone conversation with Nick was very straight forward with no hidden gimmicks. I have found that he teaches his class in the exact same way. He will critique you good and bad in order to prepare you to become a better actor. Sometimes he has nice things to say and other times not so nice, but this is good because it teaches you how to handle rejection. In this business, you have to have tough skin because you are in the world of rejection. I really enjoy the class and look forward to it every week. more

GREAT ACTING SUDIO WITH PROFESSIONAL TEACHERS 9/29/2010

Have learned a lot with all of the teachers at the acting studio. From cold reads, improv, auditioning in front of the camera, to scene analysis. It is great to get professional teachers who have worked in the industry and give you inside advice on what casting directors are looking for. more

Great Options to Learn 9/21/2010

I began taking classes in 1998 at Nick Conti’s Professional Actor’s Studio and have been an instructor at the Studio for over ten years. I have also participated in various forms of acting classes in Atlanta for over twenty years and have found this Studio to be one of the best options available. I believe that the strength of our Studio is in the diversity that our teachers offer in teaching styles, personalities and strength in their acting abilities. We offer a free audit of a class so that students can see how our classes work, ask questions and select the teacher and class time that works best for them. My personal philosophy is that our job as teachers is to provide a comfortable, safe environment where students can receive information, stretch their capabilities and create a framework from which each student can develop the creative style that works best for them. I highly recommend our Studio and believe that anyone interested in growing as an actor can find a class here that works for you. more

From A Teacher's Perspective 8/27/2010

I have been a part of the Professional Actor's Studio since 2001. I teach both teens and adults. I am familiar with the teaching styles of all of our wonderful teachers. The great thing about our teaching staff is that you can find the teacher that fits you best. In addition, you can get a feel for the atmosphere by taking advantage of your FREE audit. Then stay after class and ask as many questions as you want about class format, content, and other exciting opportunities available (e.g. our periodic Showcases with top industry guests in attendance). Interestingly, about 80-90% of all auditors sign up for the class, which is why we are almost always on a waiting list. Once members, students usually stay from 6 months to 2 years or more, because most students realize that - like any skill - your acting ""muscle"" has to be constantly worked or else it will atrophy. So come audit a class for free and decide for yourself what sort of review the Professional Actor's Studio deserves! more

Worst Acting studio in ATLANTA 5/19/2010

As the saying goes those who can't do teach... Nick Conti has obviously chosen to be a teacher so he can still perform. If you have trained professionally you would see that this is probably the worse hundred dollars youll spend. Not only does he talk for the who first hour of your class but if your a woman and the least bit attractive and you need someone to make you feel uncomfortable than thats the place for you. After you do a scene he will give you feed back than have you sit down. Never does he have you do it again to correct your mistakes and try and apply the things he has mentioned. HE IS EXTREMELY RUDE! If you are planning to go to this studio go for Michael's class or the Improv. That is the only thing thats worth the money. Its amazing that he manages to take up 3 hours and you only get to go up once. SAVE your money! Dorseystudios for those of you who are serious! Cons: Nick Conti. Talks the whole time/ Gives no direction. more
