Ace Parking

I'll concur with the previous reviews. They are ripoff artists. I too lost my ticket, went back into the mall, couldn't find it and resigned myself to paying something -- even though my original ticket had been validated. I called from the pay station, and the woman said ""come to the office on Three Pepper to ""discuss the lost ticket"". I walked down to the office, was ""greeted"" by a woman who apparently takes her job VERY seriously. She asked if I had a receipt for purchases. I said I did not. She said ""well, it's either a receipt or $60. If you have a receipt, they'll let you out."" I asked why she couldn't have told me that over the box. She said, ""it's against out policy to discuss these matters over the speaker"". Really? It's not like you're giving me the nuclear codes or something! Sheesh. Back into the mall, I bought some gum and soda and headed out to my car. I drove to the exit, and pled my case. The very nice lady called Ms. ""Three Pepper' and explained that i was there, receipt in hand, asking to exit the garage. Three Peppers asks, ""How much is the receipt for?"" She says, ""$5.33."" Three Pepper says, ""That's not shopping. It has to be more!!"" I nearly came unglued. She NEVER mentioned an amount, just that I needed a receipt! 3 Pepper finally says, ""Tell him we will give him a one time pass, but NEXT time it'll be $60.00."" So to recap: If you park here, do NOT lose your ticket!! Get it validated (free throughout the mall WITHOUT purchase). If you LOSE your ticket, make a purchase, show your receipt and demand to be let out!! They'll relent and let you out, trust me. They are a total pain about it though!! more

AVOID ACE PARKING AT HORTON PLAZA AT ALL COSTS!!! FRAUDULENT SCAMMING ""parking"" charges advertised as: ""FREE 3 HOUR PARKING WITH VALIDATION"". As I attempted to exit with properly validated card, I was CHARGED $20 BECAUSE I ALLEGEDLY CHECKED IN BEFORE 9:30AM. I ACTUALLY CHECKED IN AT 9:32AM AND THERE ARE NO SIGNS THAT 9:30AM MADE ANY DIFFERENCE, ANYWAY! Parking attendant said if you are even 1 minute before 9:30AM check-in, you are charged $2.00 every 15 minutes, and the validation discounts 30 minutes, not 3 hours!! THERE ARE NO SIGNS TO THIS EFFECT, AND MY TICKET WAS STAMPED 9:32AM. The attendant kept the stamped ticket and DID NOT GIVE A RECEIPT FOR MY $20, OR FOR ANY PART OF THIS TRANSACTION!! ****(WHERE DID MY $20, WHICH IS UNTRACEABLE GO?)**** My experienced occurred at 4/21/12. Very difficult to work with. You need to validate your ticket on your way in, and it is not always easy to find the validation machines. Horton Plaza is designed so that you have to walk past the maximum number of stores to get anywhere. (I usually just get lost.) Often there is a line once you do find the machine. Recently I did everything correctly, but I was still charged $22 for 2 hours and 21 minutes. My parking there should have been free. The person on the phone says that I must not have validated my ticket, but I did. Or at least I put it in their machine, which obviously did not do what it was supposed to do. It gave me no indication that my validation had failed. Pros: Downtown Cons: System just doesn't work, and charges you for their problems. more

Horton Plaza's parking will take you for a ride. The validation machine shuts off before 9:00 pm sometimes. When this happens, Ace Parking will require that you pay the whole amount anyway. I paid for my parking and my friends, $38 & $40. Why the two different amounts, I was directly behind her and the attendent couldn't let me pay for both at one time, so two minutes ticked by and low-and-behold I got to pay another $2. Horton Plaza will be loosing customers because Ace Parking is a rip-off!! Cons: Astronomical prizing ! ! ! ! ! more

I used to ALWAYS park at Horton Plaza for anything I was doing downtown. I will never do so again. I parked there for a show at the House of Blues. I was in a hurry so I didn't notice that they have made changes there. It used to be that you were validated at any establishment in Horton Plaza. That meant that you could validate your parking at the end of your evening. This is no longer true. The bright side is that you can validate without buying anything at Horton Plaza. There are validation machines outside for your use. However, the machines turn off at 9pm. So if you are going to 24 Hour Fitness, UA Theaters, the Lyceum, the Balboa Theater, or any other establishment that is open after 9pm, then you have to validate before you go in. They have REMOVED THE MAXIMUM charge amounts and no longer close. At $8 per hour, this means you pay far more than you should ever have to while parking in downtown. I highly recommend parking with 5-Star or Parking Company of America instead. Pros: Location. 24 hours. Cons: Price. No maximum charge for the day. Validation is only 7am-9pm. more
