Access Dental - Carmichael

This place is a major rip off. Called in this morning to make an appointment and was offered a $99 special for xrays,exam and cleaning. Got there and had the exam and the doctor said my teeth were in pretty good shape, as he went on, he said that he wouldn't recommend a deep cleaning and so forth and so on. After he left the room, the billing person came in and said that I NEEDED a deep cleaning and they wanted to charge me $150 for each section (4), when I corrected her, she said ""let me check with the dentist"", then they both came back and he said that I DID need it and that I misunderstood him. All in all, I went in for a chipped tooth and a deep cleaning and all they did was shave my chipped tooth (because they said it needs a crown) and REFUSED to give me my free cleaning that was supposed to be included in the $99 I spent. Three times he refused me a standard cleaning. I got home and contacted a different dentist office; they GUARANTEE a cleaning with the $100 I'm going to be paying for that session and was shocked when I told her the story of what happened at this place this morning. I DO NOT RECOMMEND going there, they are only about the MONEY. It's too bad the star rating for this doesn't go UNDER 1 because it deserves to be in the negatives. What a waste of time and money.!!!!! more

I've been coming to this office for a few years. I can honestly say that this place has only got better for me. From their doctors and assistants to the front staff and the manager. It's very clean and they don't try to rob you like my old dentist used to. Waiting time is acceptable. Overall...I would recommend this office for sure. more

Brought wife and son for first visit. The office seemed understaffed and disorganized. Arrived 20 minutes early, didn't get called back until 30 minutes after appt. time. X-ray didn't work and took three tries to get the first x-ray (on second machine). Assistants seemed brand new and inexperienced. Wife disagnosed with need for debridement and son diagnosed with 11 cavities despite his regular dental care and good dental history. Didn't get the work done and went to our old dentist. No debridement needed for wife, just a regular cleaning, and he found the source of tooth pain (hole in a crown) that the access dentist missed. Son needed only 1 filling, not 11. We will not be going back. My mother went once and was dissatisfied after expensive treatments that may or may not have been necessary. She won't be back either. Would give zero stars if i could. more

disorganized, staff and managers gossiping, manager unresponsive to billing questions, no care attitude, someone from main office walking around acting high and mighty, snottty and rude. No one knows what the other is doing. multiple appointments with minimal care at the time of serv, reported needing a deep cleaning (went to another doctor and they said absolutely not. new dr said I had #1-2,when Access said I had 4-5). I believe the diagnosis in order to get the highest comp from you and your insurance. they will give you discounts if they want your service bad enough but is it worth it. you only have one set of teeth and i would like to keep mine. this place should only service your pet (maybe) Pros: clean Cons: lots more

I have been going to this office for about 2 years now. The staff is always courteous, even when they're busy.\r I've had quite a bit of dental work done here and it has always been painless and looks and feels great. They've got state of the art equiptment and the office is clean and well cared for. Having worked for a dentist previously, I am pretty critical....so would not hesitate to recommend this office. Re:Access Dental. They are disorganized. They couldn't find my x-rays sent from another dental office, they didn't understand what procedures I wanted done, I had to wait for them to find data, and then they didn't have time to do dental work on me that day! I had to reschedule. I had several questions about billing and it took three phone calls and two visits to straighten the problem out. My dentist was good, but I wonder if it is worth the trouble to go there. more

The place is clean but everyone is unorganized. I've been seen here a few times but don't use them anyone. Once, they lost my chart and I ended up waiting for 45 minutes before they even processed my paperwork. Then another time I had to call up regarding my bill and I called for weeks and the manager refused to take my call. The manager and doctors are all foreigners and don't understand English very well or speak it so its frustrating trying to communicate. They push services in order to use up your insurance and you can't get the same diagnosis no matter who you see. It's all about the money and not the patients. Wow. Just had to reply after seeing the negative review. I've been using this same office for 4 years and have never had a bad experience. Always timely, always friendly - and great care. The office is clean and well managed - yes there are a lot of techs that do different duties, but in my opinion that's what makes the place operate so well. I've had the most helpful advice that was specific to my own dental hygiene from the techs at this place. Buyer beware, i guess - but i would recommend them. more

My experience at this office was horrible. Even with an appointment I had to wait an hour before being called back. I was then passed from person to person. One person took me back to get an x-ray. Another person took the x-ray. Another person took me to an exam room. Another person came in and cleaned my teeth. Then the dentist came in to examine the x-rays and my teeth. The dentist never said hello or acknowledged me. The dentist?s assistant then told me that I had a couple cavities and would need to make an appointment to return. Someone else then came to take me to make an appointment with the front desk. I got such an uneasy feeling about the place that I canceled my appointment a couple days later. Thank God! I have now found a great dentist, and after the initial examination I was told that I don't have any cavities! Apparently Access Dental wanted to put me through pain and waste my time just to make a buck. My story is not alone. Several coworkers of mine have had similar experiences. Access Dental would perform yearly deep cleanings and take all of the allocated insurance money rather than fix my friends broken tooth. Another friend was told she had four cavities, but after going to a different dentist was told that she had none! I realize that these stories are just hearsay to whoever reads this, but if you choose to go here I urge you to question their diagnosis of any problem! more
