Acapulcos muy malo 4/2/2010

Our first visit a year or so ago was unimpressive and irritating and we were not going to give them another chance. On the way home from a baby doctor appointment we decided to stop and get take out. When we walked in and asked to place a take out order - we asked the hostess if they could make a garden salad. She did not know what a garden salad was and suggested we get the taco Salad which we did without the meat because I wanted a side salad. I of course was charged full price. We then asked if it was possible to get Medium Rare steak in the Fajitas and was told yes and then she asked what I wanted to order. So I said ""steak fajitas please"" and she looks at the menu and says ""you have a choice of steak, shrimp or chicken""... Is it me? So I repeat that I want steak Medium Rare in the fajitas. She tells us it will be 20 minutes for the take out. A good 10 mins later the hostess tells us she just put the order in. So I asked if this means that we are waiting another 20 minutes and non apologetically she says ""yes""... Finally we get our food and leave. I get home and did not get fajitas - I got a quesadilla that I did not want and it was sprinkled with shriveled overcooked steak! I was furious because it was clear that they had no clue what they were doing while we were there but we were so specific about our order that I could not believe that it was wrong. I called there and spoke to the hostess that took the order. She claimed at first not to remember us - I can assure you I was the only pregnant woman with her husband who ordered take out in person and waited. She asked me what else we ordered and said she would have to call me back. I was clear when I called to tell them of their mistake that I wasn't coming back to get the fajitas as they are at least 20 mins away but wanted them to know about the mistake. The hostess proceeds to tell me that even though she took our order that some other ""lady"" gave us the food and she should have checked so it was not her fault. I told her that they both work there and it is called customer service. I don't care who placed the order or gave us the food - the order should have been right especially since we had a whole conversation about it. She calls back and says ""this is the hostess from Acapulcos and I know you said you live 45 mins away but you only paid $9.99 for the quesadillas and the fajitas are $15 so you would have to drive here and return the quesadillas before they would place an order for the fajitas"" Can you even imagine? My in laws own a restaurant, my husband is a chef and this just blew us away. I told her again that I was NOT driving back there and returning the quesadillas and that the service and communication at that restaurant is awful and that they lost a customer. They could care less. Not to mention they got $8 out of us for a tin full of romaine lettuce with four tomato slices so I think we are even when it comes to the fajitas. We will not be back and after dining there and getting take out and being disappointed and thoroughly annoyed after each experience I suggest no one visit there. Good luck to Acapulcos on staying in business if they keep this up. Cons: everything more

Outstanding Mexican food 9/7/2008

I can't agree more with the positive reviews posted. The prices are reasonable, the staff is friendly, and I've never had a bad meal here after several years' experience eating here. Pros: food, drinks and staff Cons: Sometimes there's a wait...but that's a good sign. more

Quality Mexican food 7/19/2008

My wife and I were traveling to Worcester and found good reviews of Acapulcos on the web so we decided to stop there for lunch. All the food was PIPING hot and super fresh. The waiter was working on his English, so this was a little challenging at times, but it provided us with some good interaction and a little humor. The only thing I'd change from what we had was to add some salsa (which we did) to the queso dip appetizer. Aside from that it was rock solid! more

Excellent food, excellent service, excellent value! 9/1/2006

Acapulco's is one of my favorite restaurants! The food is excellent, the service is excellent, the margaritas are excellent, and the value is excellent. I would highly recommend this place to anyone who is looking for a casual/fun place to eat with a friend, boyfriend/girlfriend, husband/wife, or group. Pros: food, service, value more

The best mexican food in the area! 7/12/2006

Acapulco's has the best mexican food I have had since moving to the Northeast. The service is friendly and quick. Best of all the food is truly delicious, I have tried many of their dishes and all of them are great. Everything is flavorful and tastes fresh. The pork and seafood are awesome, which is hard to find in this area. Highly recommended! Pros: delicious food, great service, good value more

Very good service and delicious food 5/12/2006

We were pleasantly surprised by this Mexican restaurant at the edge of Framingham. The food was delicious and service was wonderful. The only issue we had is that the flan we ordered for dessert was very small. The fajitas and carne asada were very good! Pros: Easy to park, Good food, Good for kids Cons: Not romantic more

Acapulco 7/11/2004

Having spent eight straight years of vacation traveling to Southern California for great Mexican food, I now only have to travel two miles. An Acapulco's was opened very near our home. What we saved in airline travel has since been invested in the Acapulco's. At Acapulcos it goes well beyond the great Mexican dishes that are prepared. The wait staff are the best, (Alfredo, Jorge, Johnny, Miguel, Brenda, Corrado and Miguel) are all great employees and friends. The margaritas served by Ramon are excellent and his input to me on the fine tequillas of Mexico has been nothing short of a learning experience. Carlos is one of the great chefs of Mexico!! David and Alma Brambilliah have done a fantastic job putting this great restaurant on the map. Finally, we have top Mexican food in New England. Regards to all the staff; many thanks Carl Anderson and family. more

Great Food! 7/7/2004

Coming from San Diego, we scoured the greater Boston for Mexican food and found the best at Acapulcos. We go to Acapulcos every week, if not twice, since we first went there in February and it never gets old. The food is consistently amazing - I would highly recommend the tamales and chicken enchiladas which are both very tasty and filling. The margaritas are the best I've tried in Boston and the service is warm, friendly, and quick. This is a great restaurant and you'll enjoy it! Pros: Inexpensive, Great good, Good parking more

Authentic Mexican Food 5/22/2004

I am writing this as someone who lives in Boston, but who has spent several weeks in Mexico over the past several years, and who has also had the opportunity to eat Mexican food in Texas, along the Mexican border, as well as in Southern California along the Mexican border. Acapulcos offers real authentic Mexican food. If you want the real thing eat at Acapulco's! Pros: Authentic Mexican, good value, good parking more
