Editorial review from Citysearch 9/11/2012

I began using Dr Frisard 6 years ago when I adopted my white German Shepard. Doc took excellent care of her giving her all the necessary shots throughout the years. At the end of her life she developed cancer and Doc kept her comfortable until I was ready to put her down. He never pushed me into hopeless treatments to run up the bills. He showed great compassion for my dog and myself. Since that time I have brought many pets to him because I trust him completely and he knows what he is doing. I know that he is in medicine for the animal not the money. His prices are unbelievably reason. I highly recommend him to friends. You won't be sorry more

RUDEST MAN ON PLANET EARTHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!!! 10/11/2011

Talk about the worst customer service in the world! How does this man want to stay in business when he answers the phone ""hello"" what do you want what's your name and you tell him and he says why are you calling what's your name??? Talk about weirdo I wouldn't bring my pet or my fish there for that matter just the way he was acting seemed extremely strange and sketchy to say the least! more

STAY FAR AWAY FROM THIS PLACE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! 9/13/2010

DO NOT I repeat DO NOT bring your pet to this man. I brought my dog to him because he was throwing up and had loose stools. I expected him to take a stool sample there in the office but he told me to bring my dog home with medicine and to bring him some ""firm stool"" later in the week. I brought him the best sample I could and he refused to test it because it was not ""firm enough"". I then brought my dog back in for his follow-up expecting the doctor to take a sample, and once again he gave me the same meds as before, and sent me home with the same instructions. I spent over $200 and still had a sick dog. I took my baby to a new vet who immediately tested my dog and gave him the meds he needed. I took the useless meds back to Dr. Frisard hoping to get my money back, but instead he called me a f***ing bastard in front of my 4 year old and proceeded to then call the police on me. DO NOT waste your time with this lunatic!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! more

Excellent Vet 8/27/2010

My two dogs have been patients of Dr.Frisard for two years.Several months ago ""Spot"" was dropped by my youngest daughter and suffered a torn ACL ligament(same as a football player). I was sure this injury would cost a lot of money and require surgery, but Dr.Frisard treated him with several prescriptions for several months and ""Spot"" made a full recovery without surgery. Additionally, I'm a New Orleans Baptist Seminary student and despite Dr.Frisard's reasonable $25 office visit he has performed many services at reduced fees to help me out.Dr.Frisard is not only an excellent devoted veterinarian, but once you enter his office and his exam room you will know he is also a Christian minded brother as well. Thanks Gary. more

Great Vet 1/29/2009

I have brought my puppy for a check up. I was very please with the Doctor he was very patent and caring to her. I will defiantly be back for the rest of her shots and her annual. The office is very clean and I like that he is the only doctor. My sister and friend also bring their dogs to Acadian and both have very good things to say. Pros: reasonable more

Mot a good vet 10/21/2008

I took my cat in for his yearly shots. I wanted to try a new vet so I gave im a try. He told me my cat was too fat to get his shots and that I was not taking care of him properly. My cat is 14 pounds and on weight managment premium food. In a very snide voice he asked me to find another vet. I did and got my cat his shots and found out my cat is within his proper weight range now and is very healthy. This vet is the only one there with no vet tech or secretary. He is threating and just an angry person. I wish I would have read the previous comments before I took my cat there. Cons: not helpful, unprofessional office more

Avoid at all costs,horrible 10/20/2008

Horrible customer service. He is very rude. I brought my son with me and he stated that if my son got up from the chair that I would have to leave. My son was quiet and just was walking around looking. I was told(with a raised voice) that if he got up from his seat I would have to leave. I was there about 3 minutes and told him I would see another vet. I told him my son is communication delayed and I will hold him and he told me he didn't care if he moves he can't stay here. I will never go back as I have taken my kids every where with me and have never had a problem. My son is quiet and well mannered. When I was walking out he yelled at me and told me my son needs to listen to me. The point I'm making is that my son did nothing wrong but walk around so I did not even talk to my son, how would he not listen to me? Anyway he is a nasty person(the docter) and I would not allow him to come within 100 feet of my animals. Please, find another vet! Cons: nasy person, un professional more

Acadian Veterinary Clinic 6/16/2008

I love this place! My dachshund, max, goes there all the time. The head veterinarian is Dr.Dan Frisard. He has had a good education at LSU and a private vet school. Dr.Frisard is very caring and loving to the animals. He is also very proffesional. I thin keveryone in Metairie should choose doctor frisard! more

don't bring your pet here 7/2/2007

I went to the SPCA to get a voucher to get my dog neutered. I called Acadian for an appointment. I went in and the man at the desk(don't know his name but I think he's the doctor there)gave me info to fill out. One page was a choice to have dissolvable stitches(which is included in the $20 voucher fee)or to have stainless steel stitches for an extra $25. It said they recommend stainless b/c some dogs lick the dissolvable within a day and leaves them with an open wound which has to be fixed. It was a hard decision so I called my husband. He said he it wasn?t a big deal and if we saw the dog licking them we could put gauze on it. I also thought about my mom who has 2 of my dogs litter mates and had no problem with stitches. I circled to reject stainless and get dissolvable. I brought it back to the man at the desk. He looked at them and said he was going to reject the surgery, which he has the right to do. He said that I wasn't taking him seriously and I wasn't going to get the antibiotics or the pain meds either, so he would not do it. He said he never uses dissolvable in his practice and the SPCA shouldn't make the vets. I told him he should of told me his policy when I called, and that he should of spoken to me about it before he rejected us. He raised his voice to say that other vets don't tell about stitch complications and don't give antibiotics or pain meds. I thanked him and I was tearing up b/c it was obvious he thought I was an idiot and bad owner. He(now being very frustrated/excited and still having a raised voice)asked why I was upset. I said just b/c I wanted dissolvable didn't mean I wasn't going to buy meds needed for my dog. I said it seems like he thought I didn?t want the best for my dog. He said I didn't. At this point I was very upset and I said ok, I'm leaving and proceeded to walk out. He yelled as I walked out that I could take my dog somewhere else who is not going to do a good job. Pros: none really Cons: customer serive is horrible more
