I took both of my dogs there after having a bad experience at another local shop and not only was I pleased with the way that The Wagging Tail made my dogs look, but my dogs also both love going there. They pull me through the door to get in and they are so excited to see their groomer they rush right back with them without hesitation. The way my dog looks is a big part of why I love them but I am even more pleased at how my dogs love being there. It makes me feel good knowing that my dogs are left in good hands! All the groomers seem very nuturing and loving with the pets that I watch come and go from their appointments. Thumbs up! more

I go based on my dog's attitude when entering a groomer's. After taking my dog (who had been a previously abused animal) to several local groomer's where I constantly could sense his tremendous fear, Andy finally found his place at The Wagging Tail. I am pleased with their understanding nature and Andy always goes in happily and comes out happily. And of course, he always looks great too! I think everyone has to find the right place that makes their dog comfortable, all animals are different, but I would reccommend others trying The Wagging Tail. more

I have taken my 3 dogs there several times and while they are not the best, they do an adequate job. Today, they told me that my dogs were matted and that they were going to have to really cut them. Well they look HORRIBLE and they told me that Hershey Bar jerked while they were cutting them and has a bald spot. Let me tell you how big that is and how unprofessional I think they are! I have had my animals for almost 6 years and never have I had to endure this type of unprofessionalism. Shame on them! I also had to explain how to cut Maggie's hair! I AM A PERSON THAT DOES QUITE A BIT OF TRAVELING, A REQUIREMENT OF MY JOB. I HAVE BEEN TO MANY DIFFERENT GROOMING SHOPS MOSTLY AROUND THE PITTSBURGH AREA BUT ALSO MANY AROUND THE COUNTRY, ON THE ACCOUNT OF MY DOGS TRAVELING WITH ME. I HAVE A YORKIE AND SCHNAUZER BOTH OF WHICH LOOK ABSOLUTLEY FLAWLESS WHEN WE LEAVE THEIR ESTABLISHMENT NOT A HAIR OUTA PLACE AND IN COMPARRISON TO ALL THE OTHER PLACES IVE BEEN BY FAR MY FAVORITE. THE GROOMERS ARE VERRY POLITE AND ATTENTIVE WHILE I CONVEY WHAT I WOULD LIKE DONE AND THEIR QUALITY OF WORK ALWAYS AMAZES ME. I LOVE THEM! Pros: CLEAN! PROFESSIONAL! EXPERIENCED! more

I took my dog to the wagging tail and despite the clean professional atmosphere they are terrible. They don't know the proper way of cutting any breed! That coming from other customers as well. I believe in giving second chances, I gave multiple. My dog was butchered. I will never return or never reccomend this place to not even my worst enemy!!!! Now I travel to north huntington to an amazing new place with 2 amazing groomers that are friendly and know their grooming. more

I have left my dog at the Wagging Tail TWICE with specific instructions for JUST a bath and to not trim ANYTHING. No feet, no tail, no nothin'. Twice he has emerged from the back with some sort of Beatles-in-the-late-60s haircut. Not just a few hairs around his eyes trimmed, but his whole head absolutely butchered. Twice! The second time, it also took over three hours...probably due to the time involved in hacking the hair on his head into that godawful mullet. (In addition, his feet were trimmed, but I could have dealt with just a foot trim.) On the receipt, it listed his groomer as ""shop,"" which I assume means that the person who listened to my instructions simply sat him back there to wait for whomever could groom next and never relayed said instructions. Oh, and I got to pay extra for the trim. Needless to say, I won't be returning, despite the reasonable prices and convenient (for me) location. If you've got a smooth-coated dog, or you're just looking for a shave, perhaps it would be fine, but I wouldn't take a long-caoted dog near those scissor-happy fiends.
