This complaint is against Abe's Flooring Center, no BBB listing but shares the same phone number as Abbey Carpet. I entered into a contract with Abe's flooring to install a wood floor in my living room on 11-5-10 with such contract requiring a 50% deposit (as is customary). The flooring was to be delivered in approximately 10 days. After the deposit was given the customer service went out the door. I had to repeatedly call the store to ask about my installation date and was always told that they would call me back which they never did (this happened a minimum of 15 times with both the manager Scott and owner Abe). Given my wife and my work schedules, installation was only possible on Saturday and for three weeks in a row the company promised to install the floor (11/21/10, 11/27/10 & 12/4/10). The last missed appointment 12/4/10 was after I received a call from Abe (the owner) on 12/3/10 advising that I was on the ""installation scheduling board"" for the following day and that my credit card seemed to have a problem. I advised Abe that my credit card had some fraudulent activity and that I would provide him with the new number upon completion of the install (as required by the contract; not sure why he was trying to charge my card before the install). Abe agreed that this would be fine and assured me that his guys would be at my home the following day at 9AM. As you can probably guess 9AM came and went with no appearance of the installers. I called Abe around 10AM and he told me that there was a problem with my credit card and as such I wasn't on the ""board"". I reminded him of our conversation less than 24 hours prior and was told that he would call me back. Of course no call back was ever received and I called Abe only to be told that there was some mix up again and that it would be better to do the install anytime during the week to which I offered to take off on Monday but all of the sudden that day was all ""booked"". I than advised Abe that I didn't want to do business with him and that I wanted to get my money back. Abe agreed to return the money but said it had to be via a credit to my card but it I would have to come in on Monday as he didn't know how to process the credit and Scott would have to do it. When I went to the shop on Monday (12/6/10) they did process a credit (which takes 3-5 business days to confirm and hopefully will go through). \r

The only reason I write this is to warn others about my HORIBLE experience with this company and these people.\r
