They have some very unique options for breakfast. My husband and I both had the breakfast gyros, which i now dream about at night... but seriously, it's GOOD! And only about $6...

Horrible Service 5/21/2010

Too bad I can't rate 0 stars on this one! I've been to Abe's Cafe off Main Street in old downtown Littleton, and I've tried to give it several chances, but each time it's been a bad experience. The first couple times I went, it wasn't too bad, but it appears that they've changed ownership or have new employees. The last couple times have been downright awful.\r \r I work down the street, and it's one of the only places within walking distance with to-go food, so it seemed like a logical choice. However, their Greek food is pretty poor in taste, and their other deli fare is even worse. At an average of $10 a plate, you could go to McDonald's for a better meal. The inside of the cafe is not well-kept, with an odd mix of decor, greasy tables and dingy floors. I would expect a quaint little Mediterranean cafe, but instead you get a weird and awkward American-meets-Euro-Crap hole in the wall.\r \r The worst part about Abe's is the horrid service. During my next to last dining experience, I ordered their pastichio special plate. It wasn't until after I paid and sat down to wait that the server came over to tell me they were all out. I tried to order another plate special, and the same thing occurred. I finally ordered a spanokopita and soup, and instead of comping me the difference (which any good restaurant would have done!!), the server had the nerve to charge me the extra cost!!! Not to mention it took almost 20 minutes to bring me my food. During my last (and final) experience, the cashier failed to ask me if I wanted my food to go because she was busy chatting with her co-workers and flirting with one of the guys behind the counter. The server brought my food out to me on a plate, and when I kindly asked her for it to go, she proceeded to walk behind the counter without responding to me and shove it toward one of the adolescent kids working the kitchen. He then asked why she was handing it back, and without realizing I was sitting on the other side of the counter waiting, she said, I don't know, she forgot to tell us to make it to-go, to which the kid responded, well, it's her fault she should have told us. I promptly stood up and said, ""Actually, you forgot to ask me."" The best part was when they proceeded to talk about me while I walked out of the cafe.\r \r If Abe's wants to stay in business, the owners might want to consider hiring employees who don't goof off behind the counter with customers in plain view. Save the arm punching, gossip and flirtation for after hours and maybe clean off some of those greasy tables and actually do your job. Customers won't pay decent money for some kid who's trying to fund his next skateboard purchase making crap sandwiches and gyros to slap a pathetic pita on a styrofoam plate and call it a meal. Cons: Horrible service, overpriced deli food, odd decor more

Yummy Breakfast 8/25/2009

They have some very unique options for breakfast. My husband and I both had the breakfast gyros, which i now dream about at night... but seriously, it's GOOD! And only about $6, which is a pretty cheap breakfast in downtown Littleton. Especially for the portion, which was generously sized. Pros: Delicious and affordable Cons: none so far more

What happened?! 1/10/2009

Let me start by saying that I am not a fastidious restaurant goer. I used to go to the Abe's on Main Street in Downtown Littleton all the time. They had the best babaghanoush I've ever had.\r \r Some friends and I visited the new location at Wads & Hampden. We walk in and it seems that ownership spent more time making the place feel ritsy with the large booths, classical music, and waitstaff, than on what actually matters. Aparrently, they changed the Gyro meat to the pre-cooked blocks that are ordered in frozen, and instead of putting them on the vertical rotisserie, they are grilling them. The sandich was less than appetizing, and with all the extra filler they added to it, the meat which tasted like lunchmeat, was cold. If you want a good Gyro, go to Nick's Cafe or Haji Baba's. The babaghanoush was tasty, but to make it look fancy, they only gave us 8 pieces of pita. I wish they would go back to the old Abe's, because I will never again go to the one at Wads & Hampden.\r \r I have faith in you and great faith in the non-chain restaurants that this town is littered with. Go back to doing things the right way.\r \r PROS: We still have the original location if they didn't go the way the new location did with the food.\r CONS: Food quality, kitchen experience, prices, size of portions, feelings of nausea... more

Love Abe's! 12/11/2008

My husband and I found Abe's the day we moved to Littleton. We love walking down for the Big Abe, gyro, spanikopita or Reuben (those are our standbys). The food is excellent and at great prices. We take all of our out-of-town guests to Abe's and Sami and his brothers (the owners) know us by name! It's the perfect neighborhood spot. Pros: great people, great food! Cons: not open Mondays more

Gotta love it 1/20/2005

This humble little cafe will surprise you with it's robust sandwiches, and outstanding Middle Eastern Food. The Baklava is the best i have found in this town. more
