Abel Appliance Repair

When my 2-year old Whirlpool, bottom-freezer and refrigerator quit cooling effectively, I was a bit panicked. We lost over $400 in food before we were able to start making calls for repair. When Whirlpool customer service was a total bust, I began calling every repair company I could find that serviced our area. Many were helpful, but almost all of them had a 14-21 day waiting list for service. Not only did a tech come out same-day from Abel, but they came out late in the evening on a Friday to diagnose the problem. They gave me a ballpark quote and agreed to come out the next day with the parts to fix the problem. They spent over 4 hours at our home on a Saturday (son first, then the father joined him) and went above and beyond to fix our fridge. Even though they put in more time and effort than expected, and even though they had to do additional work beyond the originally-quote repair, they never even considered charging more than the initial quote. Our fridge is now back to running like it should, and these guys were amazing! If (god forbid) I ever need appliance repair services again, Abel will be the first company I call, and the first one I recommend to friends within their coverage area. These guys really knocked it out of the park and I felt 100% like a valued customer throughout the experience. These guys are definitely worth a call! more

Great service! When our refrigerator stopped working early on a Saturday morning, I found Larry after googling appliance repairs. I checked the BBB and saw that he had an A+ rating, and gave him a call. I called at 8 on a Saturday morning, and by 10, he was over at our house working on our refrigerator. He quickly found the problem, and fixed it. We also had him replace our ice maker while he was here; he had both the part we needed and the ice maker with him! The price for the repair was very reasonable. Great job, very nice man, I would highly recommend this company. more

He was punctual, friendly, and arrived with all of the tools needed to repair our issue. He walked us through his steps as he fixed the appliance and was very knowledgeable. Larry took 2 minutes looking at our subzero built-in refrigerator and told me exactly what was wrong. He needed a part and came back next day and it was running. He fixed our gas cooktop as well after our home warranty company tried two times without success. I would highly recommend this company they are AWESOME. more

We returned from vacation to find our refrigerator Not cooling. We removed all the food expecting to have to replace it. I called Abel's repair service for confirmation that it needed to be replaced on Monday afternoon. The repairman Larry came at 7pm & gave a reasonable estimate & had it repaired in a timely manner. At about 5 PM on 8/7/2014 I noticed that the food in my freezer was getting soft and the ice maker had stopped making ice. The side of the refrigerator was very hot. I thought how am I going to find someone on a Friday evening at 5:30 PM to come even to look at it let alone fix it. I got on Angie's List look for a repair shop. The first one I looked at closed at 5 PM. The second on was Abel Appliance Repair and they were open until 6 PM. I called the number and Larry answered the call, he was on a service call and said he would get back to me. At around 6:30 Larry call me back and I explained what was going on with the refrigerator and he asked where I live and I told him. He said he would be here in 10 minutes. He arrived and found that the problem was the motor that runs a fan to keep the parts cool was not working. He changed the motor out and put everything back, cleaned up and was done in about 30 minutes. I'm thankful that Larry was willing to work late and solve my problem. He has my highest recommendation!! more
