Refinished inside of pool with epoxy material. Contractor finished in late May and was paid. Next day, pool being filled and contractor came to inspect. Noticed material turning white. Found out he used expired clear coat that did not catalyze properly. It stayed sticky and would not set up. Contractor decided to drain pool, leave it empty and get second opinion. His expert also said material was bad. Contractor promised to ""make it right."" He has not returned calls, refuses our mail and has never been back. It is now Sep 07. Pool is still empty. Sun has blistered, discolored and cracked the material. Now taking bids on refinishing pool with plaster. It will cost >$2000 to remove epoxy material from pool. We paid >$1500 for the epoxy coating than the most expensive plaster material bid received, not including cost of removing the epoxy. This is a bad contractor who did not do a good job and has not fixed his bad work.
Pros: The material itself is fabulous; pool was gorgeous when done
Cons: Material must be applied by contractor who is EXPERT or bad results
