If I could rate this piece of crap place without any stars, I would. My husband and I were looking for an '08 Infiniti and found a decent price for one online. Went in to test dri...

What A Joke! 3/4/2011

We went to Auction Direct because they had the car we wanted. It was reasonably priced at $19,200. We were ready to buy it and commit to the payments but first wanted to review a breakdown of the total cost. He kept emphasizing the monthly payments as means to avoid the question until we insisted he show us the breakdown. I guess we shouldn't have been shocked when the total price with all their fees - including charges for items that would be included elsewhere such as washing and cleaning, document fees, and other unknown fees - came out to almost $25,500!!! Over $6,000 more than the price on the sticker!! Obviously you pay tax and title so we were expecting around $2,000 but $6,000!! That is absolutely ridiculous! They seem to use a ""beat around the bush"" sales tactic. Instead of answering our questions they gave us vague answers that only kind of answered the questions we were asking. This happened several times while we were there: when we asked for pricing breakdown, when we asked what kind of financing rates they were offering we got ""our rates are very competitive with local banks,"" and in the end when we decided we wanted our deposit back they conveniently couldn’t find the women who had to write us the check (we put cash down, why couldn’t they just give us cash back??) You should also be aware that the prices on the cars are not the actual price because it does not include the commission they make off the vehicle which in our case was an additional $400. Ohhh wait they don’t work on commission – not completely true!! Even though they don’t get a percentage of what they sell, they still make money off the sale which leads right into my final point…Their no pressure sales pitch… it seemed that way at first but once we put down our deposit it was nothing but intense pressure to get us in the door to sign the papers. After successfully dodging their sneaky tactics we found a similar vehicle at a dealership that was straightforward with their pricing, financing, and breakdown of total cost. more

cobalt on recall 3/3/2011

Auction Direct of Victor,NY sold my girlfriend a 2009 chevy cobalt in May 2010. There was a recall on the car but the work was never done at Auction Direct. They knew about the recall but never mentioned it at all. By chance I asked my local chevy dealer if there was any recalls outstanding and the informed me that the steering motor HAD to be replaced ASAP--they did it at no charge to her. This car was a rental and they to did not fix the recall. They also told her the Fob wasn't working because of bad batteries-like fools we believed auction direct and came home with a car with a Fob that did not work and had to be REPLACED at a cost of $225.00. So new buyers BEWARE of AUCTION DIRECT sneaky practices and their excess pressure they put on customers to BUY their warranty products. more

Buyer Beware 2/26/2011

Buyer Beware.\r These instances were all between Feb 8th and Feb. 23, 2011\r I started my negative experience with this company by going to look at a 2004 Porsche 911 Turbo they had advertised. I went to their showroom to view the vehicle. They told me it was sold! (it was still being advertised) ? first red flag I failed to heed!\r Then a week later it showed up again and I stopped in to look at it. I took a look and inquired why the price had increased by $5000.00 since it was advertised previously. They informed me it was because it had the X50 Package (upgraded Turbo package) which was a significant cost increase. They informed me the VIN code showed this. Second red flag I failed to heed!\r It seemed like a very nice car but I needed to do some research. I did find out that the VIN code does not show an X50 option. The X50 is a factory installed package that is indicated by the Accessory list under the front hood not by the VIN code. It seems there General Manager who profe more

Insulting trade in value!!! 10/18/2010

Would never buy or sell my car there. Awful experience. We took our car hoping to sell there for a decent price. The car was washed/waxed...beyond clean. The car is in excellent condition both inside and out with low mileage. We checked the value on Kellys Blue Book for a trade in and it gave us $8,100. After the "professional" looked our car over, he came back with an insulting price of $5000. He said that there is nothing wrong with the car but it just isn't "clean" enough...we asked what do you mean by that. The car was absolutely spotless, in showroom condition. Well, it has some minor wear/tear he said. Currently, similar cars are selling on Ebay and at real dealers for $12,500. I understand if they don't want to but an exotic car, because they specialize in inexpensive, basic cars but just say so. Don't insult us and then come up with some illogical explanation to justify your decision. \r \r Waist of time!!!!!! more

Satisfied consumer 8/15/2010

GREAT EXPERIENCE:. They gave me a price on my 2008 BMW within 25 minutes, wrote the figure on the salesman's card, and away I went . I came in 2 weeks later, showed him the card with the figure, they wrote a check to the lien holder, and the balance to me, and gave me a ride to work. I would not hesitate to use them again.\r GREAT EXPERIENCE! more
