Only the food is better than the service (but not by much) 11/30/2008

I have been to this fantastic comtemporary Italian gem twice now and both times I have been more than delighted. Both times I asked for something that was not on the menu (Putanesca) and both times the staff just said ""no problem"" and delivered some on the best Italian food I have had on this side of the Atlantic.\r \r All the staff (including the owner) were wonderful hosts and added to the enjoyment of the great food and comfortable atmosphere.\r \r This is certainly a ""go back again"" place - and you must try the pizza! Pros: service, attitude, atmosphere and food quality Cons: could not find any more

I was in Sarasota on a business trip taking trip. Contina Toscana was the best part of the trip. The restaurant was beautiful, the service was excellent, and the food was delicious. I wouldI definitely eat here again! more

Phenomenal food especially considering price. A little hard to find but worth it. everyone talks about ""authentic Italian"" but the chefs there just got off the plane from Italy. Service was very friendly despite the dinner rush. I wanted something different & had Risotto ai funghi, porcini, e tartufo (rice w/ truffles, mushrooms, onions & Parmesan) Exceptional dinner experience including home-made desserts for chain restaurant prices. Pros: food & service Cons: little out of way more

I have been here 3 or more times love the food, allways fresh and allways delicious full of flavors The owners are great and meet you with a smile waitstaff is very informed and courtious They have a great lunch special Pros: full flavor big portions Cons: to far from my house more

Best Italian in Bradenton 3/21/2008

Cantina Toscano is a welcome change to the Italian chain restaurants in the area. The atmosphere is pleasant, the staff wonderful, and the authentic Northern Italian menu has something for everyone. Whether you are looking for a fabulous pizza or choose one of the many other entrees, you will not be disappointed. Once you try Cantina Toscano you will return again and again. more

We enjoyed the comfortable atmosphere. The staff offered helpful suggestions regarding the menu. The flavors of the fresh, natural ingredients can be appreciated. Reminded us of great meals we've enjoyed in the countryside of Italy! more

A real taste of Italy in Sarasota 3/16/2008

I really recommend the Cantina Toscana; the choice of food is really big, you can get for example yummy italian antipasti like the ghiottone one with great fried bread stripes and lovely prosciutto ham. I also enjoyed the Focaccia (white pizza) with stracchino cheese, another tasty and characteristic product of Italy that I love! The atmosphere inside of the restaurant is very pleasant; the owners are great guests and make you feel at home; I also appreciated the inside decoration very simple but classy at the same time. \r more
