ASA College

It's a matter of effort. I was fortunate enough to get accepted to ASA College last spring for their Nursing program. If you're expecting a laid back class, forget it. Professors constantly push students to be the best and learn the material. If you ARE a focused individual who wants a job and career then ASA College can help you envision your dreams just don't expect your success to be handed to you. more

Not the best school but far from the worst. A lot of those ""students"" complaining seem to have unrealistic expectations or lack any motivation to actually succeed. I studied Nursing at the Brooklyn location and had a blast. My classmates were awesome and there was always something to do in the neighborhood. I graduated last summer and got accepted into St. Francis school of nursing, which would have never been possible without ASA.\r \r Each person has their own experiences and that's okay. But if you don't plan on applying yourself, ASA (or any other college for that matter) is not for you. Just know what you want, expect and are motivated to achieve and go for it, don't expect success without effort. more

First off I will like to say that I also have and A.O.S in medical assisting for medical assisting from ASA. I graduated in 2010. I did my externship but unfortunately no job in this field. That was not the fault of the school because I have not utilize the career service office. I don't know who told you that the credits are no transferable because they are. I just enrolled in Lehmann College which is a CUNY college for those who don't know. And most of my credits were transferred for the nursing program. So your failure has nothing to do with the school. If your not pushing for forward with what you have then you deserve to be in dept for no reason. All of ASA DEGREE programs are transferable. more

Well lets see where do i begin, you and ONLY you who do not research your educational options werent to bright to begin with.....i graduated ASA with a 3.8 GPA....after 29 years of not being in ANY school, my son ( 20 ) 3.9 GPA Graduated with me and is in his 1st semester at John Jay ....ill be there in august, if you got ripped off well you didnt take advantage of your Professors knowledge, again i question your educational options. ALL MY Criminal Justice Credits are tranferrable, i suggest you seek the meaning of middle states acredidations and OTHER schools like sanford brown who offer nothing.......do your research next time you make your own ignorant choices! ANY SCHOOL YOU SEEK IS ON YOU! ..........should've been able to keep up sorry for your short short comings left you in dept and clearly miserable......some of these posts are a joke. ASA COLLEGE NEEDS TO BE SHUT DOWN LIKE WALL STREET!! These so called private Jewish Colleges ARE ALL RIPP OFF. I went to TOURO COLLEGE for the Medical Billing Program. I ended up with no job, no externship, and no certificate. They discontinued the program because of LIES AND SCAMS. I went to ASA COLLEGE for Healthcare Office Administration Program and it was the same GARBAGE. I ended up with a worthless AOS Degree, no externship, useless college credits, no job, and $20,000 in DEBT. These CON-ARTISTS are the same as Bernie Madoff (PROFESSIONAL THIEVES), they need to be in prison for the rest of their lives!! Nothing good to say about this school, Please go to a CUNY school. you'll wast money and time in this place. The education here is the worst your credits aren't accepted in any colleges. I moved to TEXAS an out of 68 credits they only took 8 of my credits. Please People this place goes out to homeless shelters, They take buses out to bad neighborhoods to get people which is nothing wrong with that it they cared about EDUCATION which is not the fact their only concern is getting the money it like a Head Hunt the more bodies the more money. more

what kind of grades did u get? because two of my friends transferred all their credits without problem: one to Pace and another to John Jay. both schools took all ASA credits, no problem.... more

I went to this school and majored in Criminal Justice. The program is very good, and the professors are great. They are helpful and caring and always willing to help. I don't know why people write things about this school that professors do not speak English -- IT'S NOT TRUE!!! and they help you find a job. they prepare you for job interviews and if you don't get a job right away, they will give you feedback from unsuccessful interviews and tell you what you did wrong and what you should do when you go again. I really don't know why people write bad reviews and say things that are not true. If you want to succeed, you should work hard and really apply yourself everywhere -- in school, at work. I did that and now I'm very happy. So don't believe people that say bad things -- they are liars. My friend went to John Jay after ASA and they took ALL CREDITS. Another girl I know went to Pace after ASA and they took all her credits, too. If your grades are good, you will not have any problems with credits. If you did nothing for 2 years and learnt nothing, then, of course, it's not surprising that no other school wants to take you or no employer wants to hire you. It's up to you what you make of your life. more

AHHHH THE COLLEGE OF EXCELLENCE FOR THE THE MENTAL HOSPITAL PATIENTS, THE COLLEGE OF EXCELLENCE FOR PEOPLE WHO JUST WALKED OFF OF RIKERS ISLAND, THIS SCHOOL SUCKS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! IF YOU SEE AN ADMISSIONS REP RUNNNNNN AS FAST AS YOU CAN. THESE PEOPLE ARE SPECIALLY TRAINED TO SUCK YOU IN AND HARASS YOU NONSTOP TILL THE MAKE THEIR COMMISSION OFF OF YOU. NOT ONLY DOES THIS SCHOOL CHARGE OVER $6,000 PER SEMESTER ( THAT PAYS A YEAR AND A HALF AT A CUNY/SUNY SCHOOL), BUT THE QUALITY OF THE SCHOOL TOTALLY RUINS THE COLLEGE EXPERIENCE THE SCHOOL IS CORRUPT ON ALL LEVELS THE RUSSIANS THAT RUN THE SCHOOL ARE SO DISCRIMINATING AND RACIST IT'S DISGUSTING!! I signed up for this school becuase i was really anxious to go anywhere. I should have tok the warning sign of me just being able to walk in and be registered for school in one day. They rob you the cost for this hand me down degree is outrageous. You dont get a job when you graduate. Fincial aid lies to you. Teachers are all from different countries and hardly speak english. Most are first year instructors. CUNY and many other school only accept 8 out of the 65 credits you earn here. HOrrible school. Students and environment is horrible. Basically high school all over again. I transfered to Mount Saint Vincent. I pay less and its a complete 360. more

This is a horrible school dont waste your money or your time, i went to this school for three semesters before i moved out of the state, and none of my credits were excepted by my new college,the teachers were horrible most did not even speak good english, and most of my friends that did stay and graduate from the school are jobless or working dead end jobs. if i could give this school zero stars i would, so the one star is only because i have to be nice. Go to a cuny school dont try the easy fast route, it is too good to be true trust me.. Pros: Nothing good about this place Cons: school non accredited credits wont transfer. more

I know this place from inside and I applied there. I would never post any negative reviews on any places , because,first, don't have time to do it,second, I realize that it's just my experience. But not in this case. I'm sorry, I don't want to write what exactly happened to me. But it was THE WORST experience in my life. The reason why I'm writing this review is that I just want to warn everybody. Be careful! I have no idea why this place ( don't want to use the word ""college"",it doesn't deserve it) still exists...I guess, many people are like me- too busy and stay quiet. I mean,I try to warn you, but don't want to spend my money on lawyers to go further. I'm not studying there(but was excepted) and WOULD NOT RECOMMEND IT.
