AMF Strathmore Lanes

Being I grew up in Matawan, this was a favorite spot. It is always clean, concession is good, and staff are always friendly. I love cosmo nights as well. Alot of family fun to be had! more

My favorite place to go bowling. They have a great two hour special sometimes where you get two hours, free shoe rental, nachos and soda for like half of what it would normally cost you In the end it translates out to like a dollar a game. If you want to get a bunch of games in this is the place. more

This is a good place for bowling, and they offer discounts some nights, including food. A lot of times all the lanes are taken up by teams, which can be a disappointment. more

Strathmore Lanes has been a fixated landmark in Matawan for many reasons.\r \r First, the game is cheap. For a typical bowling game plus shoes, you'd pay far less than other bowling lanes in the area (compare 2 dollars a game to 4 in Holmdel). \r \r In addition, there's always an opening somewhere. You won't be waiting 20 minutes for a lane here; they usually have a lane right off the bat for you to bowl on.\r \r Finally, the food! They serve the single greatest curly fries in town! This place is your typical bowling alley. They have a snack bar and rent your shoes - although I like that they did not make me give them my shoes to hold while I used theirs. They have many balls to choose from and they have lighter balls than most bowling alleys which was good for me. Reasonable prices when comparing to other alleys but bowling is overpriced everywhere today. more

My daughter went to a classmate's birthday party here a few weeks ago, and it was fantastic. The staff was so friendly and great with the kids. We just booked HER birthday party there for next month, and again, the staff was great. I filled out an inquiry form over the internet at night, and the manager called me the following morning. GREAT customer service! To arrange the party, I just needed to fill out a paper, and they do all the work. They supply the invitations, goodie bags, and thank you notes, too, which I thought was nice. The bowling alley itself is very clean and has been updated so it's nice and modern. They look to have a large selection of bowling balls, and there concession stand is clean with a decent selection, as well. I've been bowling at AMF Strathmore Lanes for years! I love the place. Very clean and well maintained alleys. Great selection of balls, all weights and colors, I'm partial to an 8lb pink one. I like to take my kids bowling and the staff are always a great help to me. Putting up bumpers and taking out the ramp for the boys to push their balls down. They have so much fun. Plus the Leagues are awesome! Always something for everyone. Different days, different mixes and the prices are very reasonable. more

I went bowling yesterday with my family and the service was above and beyond. The employess without asking put up the bumpers. They even brought over a ramp to help the kids with bowling. When I was paying they fully explained the mosty cost effective way to purchase games. more
